He has given more than 1,000 master classes throughout the world, including annual weeklong workshops on three continents. Mr. Bradetich served as executive director of the International Society of Bassists from 1982-1990, and was editor of ISB Magazine for six years. He taught on the faculties of the Interlochen Arts Academy, University of Michigan and Northwestern University prior to his 1994 appointment as director of the largest double bass program in the world at the University of North Texas. and was the first foreigner to perform in Beijing s new concert hall. She has performed chamber music concerts throughout the U.S. and previously taught at Oberlin Conservatory and the Aspen Music Festival. Stephen Geber, head of CIM s cello department, was principal cello and held the Louis D. Beaumont Chair for The Cleveland Orchestra from 1973 until 2003. He is also head of the cello department at the Kent/Blossom School. He is a faculty member of the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida; the National Orchestral Institute of the University of Maryland; the Round Top International Festival of Texas; and the Aspen Music Festival. He was previously a faculty member at the ENCORE School for Strings. Mr. Geber heads an annual cello festival in Carmel, California for gifted and advanced cellists. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree and a Performers Certificate. Prior to The Cleveland Orchestra, he was a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1965 to 1973, and a faculty member of the New England Conservatory of Music. Mr. Geber has been a soloist with leading orchestras, and has performed throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe with The Cleveland Orchestra. He has appeared extensively with the Emerson, American and Cavani String Quartets. In addition, he has recorded chamber music with Vladimir Ashkenazy and Franklin Cohen, as a member of The Cleveland Orchestra String Quartet for London/Decca Records. In August 2003, Shar Music Company released his CD recording of 18 prominent orchestral cello solos. Former students are members of nearly all major orchestras throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. In 2007, Stephen Geber was appointed to the advisory council of Chamber Music Two at Lincoln Center. In 2008, he received the prestigious Eva Janzer Award from Indiana University. This is given in recognition for lifetime contributions to cello performance and teaching. He was appointed to the CIM faculty in 1974. Jeff Bradetich is visiting professor of double bass at CIM. He received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Northwestern University, where he studied with Warren Benfield and Joseph Guastafeste. He performed for ten seasons at the Oregon Bach Festival with Helmuth Rilling and four seasons with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra. I stood upon the bank and contentedly watched the merry fish bathe in the clear little brook. A fisherman with his rod stood on the bank, and looked on heartlessly as the fish swam about. So long as the clearness of the water is not disturbed, I thought, he would not be able to catch the trout with his fishing rod. But suddenly the thief grew tired of waiting. He slyly muddied up the brook, and before I realized it, his fishing rod was twitching, the fish was squirming there, and with raging blood I gazed at the betrayed fish.

Mr. Kantor has been an artist-faculty member of the Aspen Music Festival since 1980. Peter Salaff is director of string chamber music at CIM and was a founding member of the Cleveland Quartet, with whom he has received seven Grammy Award nominations, a Grammy award and Best of the Year awards from Time and Stereo Review for recordings of more than 50 chamber works on major labels. He has performed numerous concerts, including many tours of the former Soviet Union, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey and Israel, in addition to tours across the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Salaff has coached chamber music and given master classes in many conservatories and universities in the U.S., as well as in Germany, Japan, Israel and New Zealand. He has taught as a performing faculty member at the University of Concepcion in Chile, the State University of New York at Buffalo, the Eastman School of Music, and during summers, at Interlochen in Michigan, the Kneisel Hall Music Festival, Chamber Music in the Mountains at Echo Glen, the Aspen Music Festival, the Norfolk Festival, the Killington Music Festival, PhoenixPhest and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany. Mr. Salaff now spends his summers teaching and performing at the Music Academy of the West. He has been a judge at many chamber music competitions, including the London International String Quartet Competition, the Fischoff Competition, the Yellow Springs Competition and the Coleman Competition. Mr. Salaff received the Yale School of Music Alumni Association s Certificate of Merit in 1979. Lynne Ramsey is a member of the viola faculty at CIM and has been first assistant principal violist of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1989. She received Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School of Music. Teachers included Karen Tuttle, Ramon Scavelli and David Dawson. She has also been principal violist of the Saint Paul and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestras. She has appeared as soloist with the Cleveland, Saint Paul Chamber and Air Force String Orchestras, as well as the North Carolina, Baltimore, and Arlington Symphonies. Ms. Ramsey was invited to perform the Walton Viola Concerto with the Beijing Philharmonic in China in December 1985

Todd Jelen is the principal bassoonist with the Akron and Canton Symphonies, the Wheeling Symphony in West Virginia and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra in Madison, Wisconsin. He has also performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Utah Symphony, Sarasota Opera Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony and the Cleveland Opera and Ballet Orchestras. Mr. Jelen received a bachelor s degree in Music Performance from Cleveland State University where he studied with Cleveland Orchestra members Ronald Phillips and Phillip Austin. He received a master s degree in Music Performance from CIM where his mentor was The Cleveland Orchestra s principal bassoonist, John Clouser. While studying at CIM, Todd was also a member of the Juniper Woodwind Quintet which placed second at the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition and third in the Darius Milhaud Performance Prize Competition. As a solo performer, Mr. Jelen has been featured in Weber s Andante and Hungarian Rondo with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and Villa-Lobos Ceranda Des Sete Notas with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra. He also performed with the Utah Symphony on their 2005 European tour. Mr. Jelen has participated in the Aspen Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, Chautauqua Music Festival and the Orford Arts Centre in Quebec. Paul Kantor is currently the Eleanor H. Biggs Distinguished Professor of Violin at CIM. A graduate of the Juilliard School, he studied violin with Dorothy DeLay and chamber music with Robert Mann. Mr. Kantor has performed as soloist with numerous symphony orchestras and was a member of the Berkshire Chamber Players and the New York, Lenox and New Haven string quartets. He has served as concertmaster of six ensembles, including the Aspen Chamber Symphony, New Haven Symphony and Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. In 1994 Mr. Kantor gave the world premiere of Dan Welcher s Violin Concerto, commissioned by the Aspen Music Festival in honor of Dorothy DeLay. Mr. Kantor has presented master classes at the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University and the New World Symphony, among others. For several years he held concurrent appointments at the Yale University School of Music, New England Conservatory, Juilliard and the University of Michigan School of Music. Beginning in the Fall of 2008 Mr. Kantor serves as Artist-in-Residence at the Glenn Gould About the Performers Linda Jones is a member of the accompanying faculty at CIM. She is also a vocal coach and gives diction classes. Ms. Jones was previously the senior vocal coach for the opera department at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she has studied piano with John Simms, David Saperton and Martin Canin, as well as accompanying/ coaching with Dalton Baldwin, Marin Isepp and Louise Sherman. Ms. Jones has extensive experience as coach, rehearsal pianist and assistant conductor with opera companies including Opera Theater of St. Louis, Santa Fe Opera, Dallas Civic Opera, Washington Opera Society, and The Juilliard School. She has been heard in recital with Simon Estes, Lenus Carlson, Judith Christin, Jon Garrison, Dina Kuznetsova and Nicole Heaston. Her recordings include Ivana Themmen s Ode to Akhmatova with Jean Kraft. She has served as music director of the La Mama ETC Company in New York City. In Cleveland, Ms. Jones has worked with the Lyric Opera Cleveland Apprentice Program as coach, and with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus as pianist for master classes, mini-recitals and auditions. Since 1993 she has been affiliated with the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, where she is a vocal coach and has been the coordinator of the voice and vocal accompanying program under the directorship of Marilyn Horne. Marla Berg embodies flair and elegance. Her comic instincts are superb, her phrasing expressive, her coloratura fine, wrote Donald Rosenberg for the Plain Dealer. Ms. Berg has made a name for herself as a versatile performer appearing in concert, opera and operetta and musical theater. She has sung with Opera Cleveland, Glimmerglass Opera, Central City Opera, Anchorage Opera, Fort Worth Opera and Kansas City Opera. Her roles include: Violetta in La Traviata, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Constanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and Hanna in The Merry Widow. She includes almost all of the Gilbert and Sullivan heroines in her repertory. In concert, she has appeared with The Cleveland Orchestra, the American Composers Orchestra, the Denver Chamber Symphony, the Rockford Symphony and the Ohio Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Berg s musical theater appearances have included Maria in West Side Story, Julie in

Carousel, and Fiona in Brigadoon. Ms. Berg s recent Cleveland appearances include the role of Desirée Opera Cleveland s production of A Little Night Music and a performance of Bachianas Brasileiras. She also appeared with Verlezza Dance in their concert, Illuminations, during a work she commissioned, choreographed by Sabatino Verlezza;. Terry Orcutt is currently Principal Oboe of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, a post he has held since the 2000/01 season. Mr. Orcutt also became Principal Oboe of the Akron Symphony Orchestra in 2007. As an active freelancer, Mr. Orcutt has played with many other local orchestras such as The Cleveland Orchestra at the Blossom Festival, Cleveland Opera, the Wheeling Symphony, and the Erie Philharmonic. In past summers Mr. Orcutt has also performed with both The Breckenridge Festival Orchestra and the American Sinfonietta in Bellingham, Washington. While Principal Oboe of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Orcutt has had numerous solo opportunities with the orchestra. The most recent was on the Subscription Concert of February 2007, where Mr. Orcutt performed Samuel Barber s Canzonetta for Solo Oboe and String Orchestra. A lover of chamber music, Mr. Orcutt performs regularly throughout northeastern Ohio in various chamber settings. As a member of the Juniper Quintet, he, Todd Jelen (Principal Bassoon, CSO) and his other colleagues won both Second Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and Third Prize in the Darius Milhaud Performance Prize Competition, both in 1999. Terry Orcutt earned a Master of Music degree at CIM as a student of the renown oboist and pedagogue John Mack, former Principal Oboe of The Cleveland Orchestra. His Bachelor of Music degree was received from the Mannes College of Music, where he studied with Linda Strommen, who is currently Professor of Oboe at Indiana University s Jacobs School of Music. Mr. Orcutt also has studied extensively with John Ferrillo, Elaine Douvas, Ricardo Morales and Jim Ryon. Alix Reinhardt has held the position of Second Clarinet with the Canton Symphony since 2002, and with the Wheeling Symphony (WV) since 1998. As an active performer, Ms. Reinhardt has played with many other orchestras and organizations, including The Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet, Akron Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony (SC), Richmond Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, South Bend Symphony, and the Blossom Festival Band. She has also spent time performing with the Crested Butte Music Festival. Other various engagements of hers include a chamber music and solo recital in Pecs, Hungary, and most recently, a two week school concert tour in the Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Ms. Reinhardt spends a great deal of time teaching as well as performing. She has held teaching positions at Seton Hill University and The University of Akron. She also maintains a private teaching studio in Cleveland. Ms. Reinhardt earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University (Bloomington) and a Master of Music degree from the University of Western Ontario. Her primary teachers included James Campbell and Robert Riseling. Lauren Moore is originally from Dallas, Texas, and has been playing French horn since age eleven. She currently holds the position of third horn in the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Cleveland Orchestra. Ms. Moore earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from the Conservatory of Music at Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master of Music degree in Horn Performance at CIM. Major teachers include Richard King, Richard Solis, David Brockett and Haley Hoops. Ms. Moore can be seen performing with various orchestras in the Cleveland area, such as The Cleveland Orchestra and The Cleveland Pops Orchestra. She is also an active chamber musician and performs in brass and woodwind quintets, as well as brass trios and large chamber ensembles. In April 2009, Ms. Moore played with Paul Schaffer and the CBS orchestra for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Ms. Moore spends her summers attending music festivals such as The Aspen Music Festival and School in 2005, where she was a scholarship recipient, and studied with Jerome Ashby, Eli Epstein and Jennifer Montone. She also attended the Blossom Music Festival in 2007 where she studied with Richard King and Michael Mayhew. In the summers of 2008-2009, Ms. Moore attended the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. In August 2009, Ms. Moore performed the Haydn Horn Concerto No. 2 in D Major with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
