Performances and Auditions We have an outstanding reputation for providing quality aspirational and motivating ensembles and performance opportunities for students. Every group rehearses weekly practising repertoire to be performed at the end of each term in high quality venues around Leicestershire. At each performance there is chance for students and parents to see performances by other groups within the LS ensemble structure and also those given by our Hub partners including school groups. How do I join? Entry to determine membership to our Intermediate and Senior ensembles ( LSSO, LSCO, LSWO and LSTO) for the academic year 2016-17 will be by audition. Places in the Junior Concert Band, Strictly Strings, Steel Pan Ensembles and all our evening groups are by application and will not require an audition. Auditions give us a chance to hear you play and make sure you are placed in the most suitable group to give you the best and most enjoyable experience. Auditions will be held on Saturdays (usually the morning) and will start after Easter. Please see overleaf for the ensembles that are suitable for your instrument or voice please note that your application will be for all the opportunities available rather than a specific group. Auditions are free of charge but there is a cost associated for membership of a group as detailed on the relevant pages. For the audition, students should prepare one piece and one scale appropriate to their playing level, and will be given some sight reading to play (your instrumental teacher will be able to help you prepare for the audition) Audition appointments will be emailed out and cannot be changed except in exceptional circumstances. Results and placings will be emailed out by the end of July - these will include all the details you need about rehearsal dates, times, venues and concerts.
