Video Creative Guidelines and Specifications
General Requirements The following content is prohibited: Tobacco, weapons, nudity, defamatory/hate content, illegal activities, profanities, spyware. Offers of free gifts, links to quizzes and surveys, misleading claims, and references to sex or sexuality. Any images of children/teenagers/adults (male or female) that reveal nipples, excessive chest or cleavage, genitals, buttocks, butt cracks, or the area between the navel and hip bones. Malware: No landing pages may contain code to install malware. Potentially offensive graphics or language that facilitates, promotes, or uses offensive, distasteful, applies scare tactics, vulgar, gross, obscene, inappropriate language, profanity, contains scary, threatening or sexually suggestive text, images or situations (includes cartoons or animations). Advertising is not allowed that advocates, glorifies or promotes rape, torture, cannibalism, human suffering or death, self-harm, violence against animals or graphic or violent images, such as images showing blood or dismemberment. 2
Technical Requirements Accuen Hosted Accuen Hosted Videos Max. Video length: 30 seconds or lower. YouTube's ad inventory supports videos that are 15 30 seconds long. (Youtube: Videos longer than 20 seconds need to be skippable). Allowed video file types:.avi,.flv,.mov,.mp4,.m4v,.mpeg,.mpg,.oga,.ogg,.ogv,.webm,.wmv Impression Tracking Tags must be send as an Impression Tracking URL (the URL has to be SSL compliant) Video creatives hosted by Accuen can be up to 1 GB. However, individual exchanges may have different maximum file sizes, so plan accordingly. Videos must have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 4:3 Make sure the creative has a clickthrough URL specified. Please note, the clickthrough URL will be opened in a new window. Please note, companion banners are only possible when using VAST or VPAID tags Fade-In/Fade-Out: Please avoid black-frames at the start and end of the video Pixels for 3rd party viewability tracking can t be implemented. 3
Technical Requirements VAST Videos hosted as VAST VAST Tag - H.264 (MP4), FlashVideo (FLV) and WebM video file types must all be included within each video creative (other formats may be included but will not be used) Must be a Linear (Pre-Fetch) Tag Creatives must be formatted according to VAST 2.0 /3.0 specs Duration of videos must be 15-30 seconds in length cannot exceed 30 seconds Creatives longer than 20 sec must be skippable Videos must have an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9 (16: 9 preffered) and must be attached to the redirect in following resolutions: 16:9-854x480; 1280x720; 960x540; 1366x768; 1920x1080; or 4:3-480x360; 720x540; 960x720 Audio Format: MP3 or AAC preferred Frames per second: 30; Files must have a bit rate of <3000kb Max File Size: 10MB per Video VAST TAG must be SSL compliant Companion Banner Served via the VAST Tag Same requirements as for the site served companions Does not need to be sent as a separate asset JPG, GIF, SWF 30 seconds max animation time (user-initiated / autoplay allowed) Up to 24 fps 50Kb max size 4
