We're a couple of former DC club DJs who decided to get back in the game because we missed the excitement. Although we play a little of everything, we ve chosen to specialize in dance/party hits of the 1980s & 1990s.
2 Our Story M Street Entertainment was launched in the summer of 2016 by veteran master disc jockeys Frank "Da Tank" Wilt ( left) and Jeff "El Jefé" Harrison ( right). Our name pays homage to Northwest DC's M Street corridor bars and clubs in which we worked for years. They included party hot spots such as Abbey Road, the Dome (aka the Cellar), the Georgetown Library, Mister Day's Sports Rock Cafe, Samantha's, and Rumors. (If you partied in any of those places, chances are we were the DJs.) Most of these establishments faded away only to be replaced by new ones. As the new bars and clubs came online, so did new crowds to frequent them. And it became apparent that as we were getting older, the crowds weren't getting older with us. Instead, the crowds were getting younger and younger. We accept the fact that we've outgrown the hot spot scene; however, we haven't outgrown playing to the crowd and packing the dance floor. Music's in our blood, after all! And that's why we now cater to events for the 40+ crowd because we best relate to this age group. In short, the songs of their youth are also the songs of our youth! Make no mistake, we're music experts! Our knowledge spans many decades and genres. We're equally as comfortable playing Sinatra as we are Carrie Underwood and Bruno Mars. It's just that we've chosen to specialize in playing the hits of our era the 1980s & 1990s.
3 Event Services Generally speaking, we handle events ranging from as few as 50 guests to some as large as 500. However, within those parameters, we specifically cater to the 40+ demographic. Our DJ/emcee services include (but aren't limited to) the following events: Anniversaries Cocktail Mixers Wedding Ceremonies & Receptions Milestone Birthdays Dances (Adult) Divorce Parties Corporate/Political Functions Block Parties/Festivals Charity Fundraisers Reunions Contests Holiday/Theme Parties Music & Equipment Our digital music library contains over 90,000 songs! Realistically only a very small percentage of them are routinely requested or played, but it's nice to know they're available if needed. We want to reiterate that our expertise encompasses many musical genres and eras, and although we specialize in hits of the 1980s and 1990s, we play current artists too! We simply decided to specialize in hits of the 1980s and 1990s because we find them more fun. There are a variety of other reasons as well. For example, most of the performers could actually sing and play instruments, most of the music was original, and most of the lyrics weren't blatantly offensive. Below are examples of the genres we regularly play for any given occasion. Keep in mind that many artists frequently span multiple decades, or have crossover hits, which makes them more difficult to categorize. Classic Rock, for example, used to comprise just the 1960s and 1970s, but has expanded to include the 1960s through the 1990s, and although Prince is classified in R&B/Funk, he has some hard-driving Rock guitar songs.

For staging, truss & club lighting systems are available for an additional fee.
5 Rates* In order to secure a booking, we require a signed contract and a $250 reservation fee, with the balance due PRIOR TO the start of the event. Basic Package: $950 (3-hour performance within 50-mile radius of DC) Extended performance time: $100 per hour.
