HD nnecting Your A/V Equipme nnecting your A/V equipme to the KD-CSW4x1 is a sile process. Start with Input #1 and proceed to the next higher input each time you add an A/V device. First, determine the video signal format you wa to connect. If an A/V device has co YPrPb (three-wire) video outputs, use them for best video quality. If co video outputs are not available, use the S- output instead. video signals can also be switched through the KD-CSW4x1, but these signals will have the lowest overall video quality. This is coarative stateme for, S- or formats. The KD-CSW4x1 does not degrade any HDTV or SDTV video signal. Next, determine whether you wa to use the device s analog aud outputs or the digital aud output. Use analog outputs if you are switching aud to the analog inputs of a TV or monitor. Use the digital output if you are switching aud to an A/V receiver with a digital aud input. WARNING do not connect a digital aud output signal to analog inputs on your TV or monitor! Page Page Selecting video/aud inputs using with the KD-CSW4x1 On the fro of the KD-CSW4x1 there is a pushbutton with a row of blue LED indicators. Each LED corresponds to a separate video/aud input. To select a specific A/V device (input),sily push the button repeatedly uil the LED indicator for the desired input is lit. All video and aud signals connected to that input are automatically se to the output. selectn and switching of A/V inputs and outputs with the KD-CSW4x1 () rol. You can operate the KD-CSW4x1 using the supplied infrared () remote corol. By pressing R1 and then digit on the remote corol, you go to the desired input. The digit you eer corresponds to the desired video/aud input (1-4). For exale, if you wished to connect a player on input 4, you would depress the key 4. When the R1 key is pressed, the blue input LED indicators on the fro panel will blink uil a desired input number is selected. If you prefer, you can press R1 and also use the CH+ and CH- keys on the remote corol to step through and select an input. RS232 mmands Switching mmand CCx (x=video/aud input [1..4]) Status mmand CCw Since both commands are of a defined length, no terminator is required. Both commands give the following respose. Uuyn y currely selected video/aud input [1..4] n firmware versn number (the two digits which may be required by the factory for troubleshooting) A response will be returned for all switching eves, whether from the fro panel, or RS232 port so that the coroller is always aware of the curre status of the KD-CSW4x1. R3 Optnal Mode of Operatn. The KD-CSW4x1 may be located where other Key Digital products are being used. Since the KD-CSW4x1 shares some remote commands with other Key Digital products, it is necessary to press the R1 button before eering a remote command. If you do not have any other Key Digital equipme nearby, you can set up the KD-CSW4x1 to not require the use of the R1 button before you select an input. You do this by pressing R3 for 5 seconds. When you press R3, the blue LED input indicator on the KD-CSW4x1 will blink. Keep pressing the R3 button uil it stops blinking. You can now corol the KD-CSW4x1 input selector without pressing R1 first. If you wa to go back to the mode where you press R1 first, press R3 again for 5 seconds. Even if you are in the R3 optnal mode, you can still press R1 first if you wish. RS-232 rol and Multiple Unit Operatn The KD-CSW4x1 can be corolled remotely through its RS-232 and ports from AMX, rol 4, Crestron, and Xaeh using the protocol and commands below.
