Composer Research Project 1. You must choose a composer from the list. 2. You will do some very intense research on the composer you have chosen which will consist of: > a list of 10 significant compositions/songs he wrote > a biography of his professional and personal life. 3. You should take detailed notes of your composer s life as you research. This will include the 10 significant compositions. You may begin putting your Keynote presentation together AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED ALL OF THE RESEARCH! 4. You will teach the class about the life of your composer. 5. You will need a handout of some sort to go with your presentation. Oral Presentation 1. You will need to make a Keynote presentation. > your presentation must have at least 15 slides (You may have more have more than 15 slides but not less.) 2. You will be graded on how you present! Remember: > don t stand in front of the class and stare at your computer. Make eye contact with the audience. > try to be interesting! > be loud enough that I can hear you in the back of the room. > be sure you know how to pronounce correctly all names, places, and composition titles. 3. You are the teacher, so act like it!!!! Presentations will begin on

Keynote Presentation Format 15 slides total: 1. Title: composer name, picture of your composer, your name 2. birth date and birth place 3 and 4. What kind of family did your composer come from? (rich/poor, musical/nonmusical, big/small, parents, siblings, etc.) Be as detailed as possible. 5. Personal life. (girlfriends, wives, children, significant events, etc.) 6. Place he lived, any travels, where he may have moved to, and when. 7, 8, and 9. Career and jobs. (How did he earn money? What did he do for a living during his lifetime? Important events? Who did he work for? For how long? Where did he work?) 10. Date of death and place of death. 11. Cause of death. 12. A Picture of your composer. 13. List of 5 compositions. 14. List of 5 compositions. 15. List of sources Each slide has a specific point value, so be sure to follow the format I have given you. (see attached rubric) You will need to include five pictures total of your composer. You were instructed to put a picture on slide 1 and slide 12. You must decide where to put the other three pictures. Handout/Worksheet Your worksheet/handout must have at least ten questions. The questions can be fill in the blank, multiple choice, or answer in a complete sentence. You will turn in to me a blank copy of your worksheet and an answer key.
