biographies Artist-in-Residence in Jazz Piano Tyrone Jackson is quickly becoming synonymous with the quintessential jazz piano player. His boundless creativity coupled with subtle accompaniments has Tyrone poised for national recognition. Jackson received his Bachelors degree from the University of New Orleans where he studied with Ellis Marsalis and received his Masters in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. Born in the New Orleans cradle of jazz, Jackson embodies the spirit of the Crescent City but has made his home in Atlanta. Jackson has performed with Earl Klugh, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Marcus Printup, Russell Gunn, Russell Malone, Eddie Henderson, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Tim Armacost, David Sanchez, Sam Skelton, Bebe Winans, Jennifer Holliday, Kirk Whalum and Marcus Miller to name a few. An accomplished educator, Jackson is an Artist-in-Residence at Kennesaw State University where he teaches applied Jazz Piano, Group Piano (Jazz), Jazz Improvisation II & III, and The Blues. Jackson is also a lecturer and clinician with the Rialto for Youth Jazz Ensemble as well as a member of the Rialto Jazz Artist Foundation which educates and develops middle and high school students. Jackson has toured Italy, Austria, Brazil, Thule-Greenland, St. Lucia and the US as a professional musician and educator. As a composer, Jackson has released three CD s of original works: Dedicated, Another Voyage and Melody in Nede: Suite for Jazz Quartet. In addition to these solo projects, Jackson has composed and performed original works and arrangements for Native Guard, a book of poems written by Pulitzer Prize Winning Author and Poet Laureate, Natasha Tretheway. Native Guard, directed by Alliance Theater Director Susan Booth, has received critical acclaim due to the synergy of drama, music and audio/visual artistry. Jackson has written and arranged countless works for a litany of artists and performers. His songs are currently played with much acclaim to worldwide audiences on local and Satellite radio.

Alex Lattimore, vocalist Alex Lattimore, a native of a city known for its great arts scene, Chicago, Illinois, is no stranger to the world of music. As a solo artist, Alex s vocal prowess has been compared to such greats as Luther Vandross, Will Downing and Jon Lucien. At the early age of five, he began his musical journey starting with classical piano and trumpet studies which led him to perform with a host of phenomenal groups and orchestras such as the Chicago Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Sherwood Conservatory Brass Ensemble, Roosevelt University Jazz Band and the University of Chicago Chamber Orchestra. Alex opened for, and performed with internationally renowned artists like Tina Turner, Luther Vandross, Michael McDonald, Eddie Levert, Frank McComb, India.Arie, Earl Klugh, The Rippingtons, Groove Collective, Roy Ayers, Dwight Andrews and the Atlanta Jazz Chorus, and Maysa Leak. Alex worked with The Ananda Project, under the direction of Grammy nominated producer Chris Brann, completing tours both in Japan and South Africa. Alex completed his highly anticipated first debut solo album Promise, released in 2008. This album received critical acclaim, including consideration for Best Jazz Vocal album for the 08 Grammy Awards. He has performed at the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Villa Christina, The Rialto Theatre, National Black Arts Festival, the Capital Jazz Cruise and a number of venues in and outside of Atlanta. His current projects are A Father s Love and his latest release that reached the top 30 on the UK Soul Charts entitled "The Reason I Love" from the forthcoming album On The Fence. Rob Henson, bass Rob Henson, as one of Atlanta's most versatile musicians, has played and/or recorded as a bass player with a wide array of musical groups including the Yacht Rock Revue, the Atlanta Symphony, Telegram, the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, Lilac Wine, the Atlanta Ballet, and numerous singer-songwriters such as Shawn Mullins, David Ryan Harris and Vince Gill. From 2006-2012, Rob recorded and toured the United States with singer/songwriter Corey Smith, playing over 150 shows a year, as well as recording five studio albums and opening for legendary acts such as ZZ Top, Willie Nelson, Cheap Trick, Snoop Dog and Eric Church. Robert Boone is an up and coming drummer/percussionist from Augusta, Ga. Believing in giving back to the community, Boone has played in a plethora of venues including local nursing homes, elementary schools and also more traditional venues such as The James Brown Arena, The Augusta Bell Auditorium, Churchill Grounds, The Velvet Note, The Cobb Energy Centre, The Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center and Spivey Hall. Robert Boone, drums Boone is the recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and was named the Most Outstanding Musician of Davidson Fine Arts High School in 2009. He received an undergraduate degree in Music Performance at Kennesaw State University, studying with percussion professor John Lawless and jazz drum set professor Justin Chesarek. He was also selected to participate in the 2015 Disneyland All American College Band. As a member of various collegiate ensembles, as well as being an active freelancer, he has collaborated with leading artists such as Trey Wright, Tyrone Jackson, Sam Skelton, Marc Miller, Marcus Lewis, Lester Walker, Rodney Jordan, Bill Peterson, Rodney Jordan and Ron McCurdy. Boone is currently on a graduate assistantship studying at Florida State University working towards his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies.
