This year s concert season includes both sacred and secular works spanning centuries and genres. Two contrasting Psalm texts exhibit this flexibility, one a Classical Michael Haydn setting written in 1780 for treble boys choir in Saltzburg, England and the second recently commissioned by Professor Holmes and a consortium of collegiate women's choral conductors, by contemporary Hungarian composer, Levente Gyöngyösi. One portion of the concert develops the theme Journey and another will feature folk music from Africa, Pakistan, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
