Product Overview Package Contents and Accessories Thank you for purchasing the ASH-EOC-01. Before you start installing the device, please verify that your package contains the below items: ASH-EOC-01 Power Adapter User s Guide 8

Introduction The ASH EOC-01 provides a simple solution to link your network-connectable devices from room to room using your existing coaxial cable. It acts as a bridge between the standard Ethernet network and your home coaxial wiring system for transferring network data and streaming multimedia content. Its connection and mechanism is compliant with the MoCA 1.1 standard using clean and shielded coaxial cables as the transferring medium. While coexisting with CATV and terrestrial TV services, the ASH EOC-01 is capable of providing high-speed internet access for entertainment devices such as game consoles, media players, internet enabled TVs, DVRs (digital video recorders) etc. 9

Indicators and Ports LED Indicator Definitions The LED lights located on the front panel indicate the status of the Ethernet network, coaxial network and power connection. Basic Connection Internet Ethernet Cable Router ASH-EOC-01 Internet Enabled T.V. Ethernet Cable Coax Cable ASH-EOC-01 12 This chapter demonstrates the basic setup, which requires two ASH EOC-01 units used as a pair to connect an internet enabled TV to an existing network.

As illustrated on page 12, the router uses an Ethernet cable to connect to the ASH EOC-01 and then uses the coaxial cable between the adapters to transfer data. After connecting the Internet enabled TV to the ASH EOC-01, the Internet enabled TV is linked to the network and will be able to access Internet services through the router. Before Installation Before installing the ASH EOC-01, you must confirm that the rooms you choose are part of your home coaxial network. Hardware Requirements Ethernet Cable Coaxial Cable ASH EOC-01 (at least two devices) 13

Installation Steps 1. Connect the existing coaxial cable from your TV or set-top box (or other device that was previously connected to the coaxial cable wall outlet) to the TV OUT port on the rear panel of each of the EOC-01 located in different rooms. ASH-EOC-01 Set Top Box TV Out Coax Cable Note: The TV OUT port filters out the Internet-to-tv signal so should not be connected to other Internet-to-tv devices including Internet-to-tv DVR s or STB s. Where this is required external splitter should be used. 14

2. Connect the coaxial cable from the wall cable outlet to the CABLE IN port on the rear panel of the two ASH EOC-01 devices located in the two rooms. Coax Wall Outlet ASH-EOC-01 TV In Coax Cable 3. Now you can turn on your TV to confirm that the TV service is available. If your TV service is not available, verify the cables are securely connected to the correct ports as stated in the previous steps. (Please disregard if you are not using the product along with a television signal). 15

4. Connect the power adapter from the wall outlet to the POWER port on the rear of the two EOC-01 devices. The Power Blue LED light will turn on. ASH-EOC-01 Power Source 16

6. After the coaxial network is established, connect the Ethernet cable from the network device of one room to the Ethernet port of this product first. In this example, we connect the router with the EOC-01. ASH-EOC-01 Ethernet Cable 7. Connect another Ethernet capable product to the Ethernet port of the EOC-01 in the other room. For example, we connect an Internet enabled TV to the EOC-01 as shown in the illustration. Now, the TV is able to communicate with the router and access the Internet. Connect to Your Home Entertainment Network Home Network Environment The coaxial network that has been widely deployed in almost every building is a good and convenient backbone for your home networking environment. By performing the basic installation that is introduced in previous chapter, you can easily add each of your rooms to your home network. See reference applications below for linking your network devices. 18
