yorksymphony.org 2015-2016 SEASON In Nature s Realm A Symphonic Force of Nature! Lawrence Golan returns on the heels of a momentous inaugural season to present a classical series inspired by nature s beauty and power, two Pops performances featuring music you know and love, and the first fully-staged opera in the history of York!

Dear Friends, Let me begin by saying Thank You! Our record-breaking first season together included numerous sold-out performances and I personally wish to thank the York community for a genuine and kind-hearted welcome that made my family and me feel very much at home. You will never know how much I truly appreciated everyone who joined us on this adventure. Last year we explored the idea of "New Beginnings," taking new paths with themes and music selections, including a journey through the cosmos. For our second season together, I invite you to join us for the Classical Series In Nature s Realm where we ll travel into the eye of the storm, through the sounds of Birdland and beyond the water s edge. Plus, we ll carry forward our new York tradition of a Holiday Pops Spectacular featuring the best songs of the season and take a trip down memory lane with legendary 70s classics from iconic piano men Billy Joel and Elton John, performed by Jim Witter. We ll also make history together with the first fullystaged opera production ever to be presented in York. 2 On behalf of the entire organization, I d like to welcome you to the 2015-2016 season, "In Nature's Realm." We look forward to seeing you soon! Lawrence Golan, Music Director
