RELIEF WITH LINE-WIDTH MODULATION Relief refers to lines that are altered to create the impression of an image projecting and receding from the page. This relief also demonstrates line-width modulation, shown here as dashed lines in varying lengths. The lines producing the impression can be straight, wavy or radial. NEGATIVE MICROTEXT WITH RAINBOW printing Rainbow printing allows a single unit to print multiple colors simultaneously through controlled merging. microtext Microtext is made up of very small letters or numbers that are barely perceptible to the eye. In this example, the size of the text and the gaps between letters change to form the 3M logo. An intentional type error, such as a misspelling, can be included within a certain area of the microtext as a covert security feature. security features: BACK 14
