A portion of your work ethic and behavior grade will be based on this. If you think you will be unable to handle practicing on your own for up to 45 minutes at a time, then you should possibly consider another elective class. If you have any concerns, please speak with me immediately.

Participation Policy Since Piano Lab is a performance-based music class, students will be eligible to earn up to 100 points for the semester, for positive behavior, work ethic, being present in class, and timeliness. For every unexcused tardy or unexcused absence, points will be deducted. If your tardy or absence is excused, you must come to me with this information (note from a parent, etc). I cannot keep track of everyone s excused tardies and absences. Please be responsible and communicate with me. For every three unexcused tardies or absences, there will be a Dean s referral. Thank you for your cooperation. Private Lessons If students are interested, I absolutely encourage taking private lessons outside of class time. This is a great way to accelerate the learning process. Here are some local piano teachers in the area. Please call to find out availability and rates.
