It does not necessarily need the B-foot as this will not be utilized much if at all. If purchasing a used instrument, you will want to check for pad quality they should not be dry or brittle, flaking or fuzzy or have dark rings on the surface. Make sure all pads are present. Try to see that all keys seal (ideally, an air-leak test should be performed by a professional). Look to see that rods are straight and don t appear bent or warped. Make sure the cork in the end of the head joint doesn t move easily or fall out and that it has the end cap. o Polish cloth (Get one made for silver instruments. Do not get silver polish cream.
