We can give the music to the students but need to submit audition entries in early September. More information about this opportunity can be given by the directors just send us an E-Mail! Other Announcements: For a weekly co-curricular schedule, please check out the calendar at: http://www.bataviamusic.org/calendar.html Upcoming Assignments: Patron of the Arts: There will be no Patron of the Arts assignment this year. 2016 BHS Music Advertisement Invitational: We are trying to look at new ways to raise money for music that doesn t tap into our families as a source of revenue. In that spirit, the Music Buffs are trying a new fundraiser the 2016 BHS Music Advertising Invitational. We will sell advertising space for the 10 BHS Music concerts in the Batavia Fine Arts Centre - First Concerts in October, Kaleidoscope in December, BHS Music Week in February, and Senior Concerts in May. This fundraiser has an extra incentive of having our local businesses support music in our community while helping to provide a professional concert program that further enhances the performing arts experience in our magnificent Batavia Fine Arts Centre. Local businesses can purchase ad space and have an ad designed if they don t have one already to help support music in BPS 101. We are also selling ad space on a T-Shirt we are designing

and giving to all music students. Finally, local businesses can purchase ad space to play on a PowerPoint loop at a concert, in a similar way to how ad space is presented prior to a movie. This has the potential to be a big fundraiser for BHS Music students - 25% of items sold will go to the student. For a ½ Page Ad, that s $62.50 for just one advertisement. To compare that to our Hoagie Sale, 62 Hoagies sold is the equivalent of one advertisement. A small percentage goes to print the programs for each concert. Please check out the website we ve designed for this sale. It has step-by-step instructions for all students and parents to sell ads. http://www.bataviamusic.org/ad-book.html Students/Parents should download and print the form in Step 1 to begin. Teachers have forms in class as well. If an ad is sold, please register the Ad in Step 2 on the website. You could do this here as well: https://docs.google.com/a/bps101.net/forms/d/1ovpg7e2zsxszkkgj1qsxcmj31caoyj83xgvcvpkeya/edit A list of sold ads is available for all families to see here, so students don t go to businesses that have purchased an ad already: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1h9jiojycnapjiyslqtmepxoer1oc5mohtkr2asb klgs/edit#gid=1044617934 Students were given ad forms beginning today. The sale runs from now until Friday, September 16 th. All ad forms must be turned in by 9/16/16. Students can go door to door in our community and surrounding communities to ask if local businesses would be interested in purchasing ad space in our programs. Also, parents should feel welcome to go to businesses as well. Businesses that have a No Soliciting sign should be avoided. For Sale: Occasionally, we receive E-Mails from persons in the community looking to sell instruments to families. For convenience, we will list these instruments here and if you are interested in purchasing an instrument from a private seller, we will put you in contact with them. All purchases must be made privately and are not affiliated with the school district.
