THE COMPANY With one of the longest performance seasons in the country, Ajkun Ballet Theatre keeps over 35 classic and contemporary ballets alive. The Company produces an average of 5 new productions every year, performed during its New York City Season and annual National & International Residencies and Tours. BALLETET THEATRE AJKUN T THEATRE ARTS IN EDUCATION & COMMUNITY OUTREACH AjkunBT is committed to share the magic of the Dance World by offering special programs to develop the appreciation of what you see on stage. DANCE EDUCATION & CONTINUED EDUCATION An outstanding education is the predictive indicator of future success and a lifelong undertaking. All programs offer training in the exclusive Ajkun Methodology. The actual cost of participation to our programs is significantly reduced by contributors. EVENTS ARTS IN EDUCATION Far more than simple arts appreciation, our practice is rooted in collaboration between artists and communities to provide students with unique hands-on workshops and performances to explore and understand the Performing Arts. BEHIND THE SCENES An insight into the life of a professional dancer offered to visiting groups interested in seeing ballet in a whole new light. May be combined with Master Classes. MATINEE WITH THE DANCERS Our Dancers share their training, rehearsals and inspirations with the general public during our one-hour events. Completed by Audience & Artists Talk. AJKUN BALLET THEATRE AJKUN BALLET THEATRE PROGR AMS FOR DANCE STUDENTS AND DANCE PROFESSIONALS TR AINEE PROGR AM ages 16 years and above Dancers gearing towards a professional career may apply to experience the Company s exclusive repertory and the New York City Performing Arts Scene. PERFORMING IN NEW YORK ages 14 years and above Dancers interested in a short - term experience with Ajkun Ballet Theatre may audition to join our Summer Program held in July & August. NEW YORK WINTER FESTIVAL ages 11 years and above Dancers and Dance Groups interested in short - term training and/ or to perform for our panel of New York City experts may audition to join our January Festival. AJKUN OPEN CLASSES intermediate/advanced and professionals Dancers interested in sharing the Company s outstanding training during off season maintenance classes. Limited enrollment, no audition required. YOUNG CHILDREN PROGR AMS ages 3 to 14 years old Children interested in performance opportunities may participate in our Nutcracker and/or spring or summer productions. Audition required only for featured roles. DANCE TEACHERS & STUDENT TEACHERS ages 18 years and above Dance educators interested in enhancing their experience by observing the daily operations of our performing company may audition to join our Trainee or Summer programs. AUDITION Ajkun Ballet Theatre is always interested in talented dancers and choreographers of any citizenship and welcomes audition applications at any time during the year.
