Chapter 1: Welcome I. What you will need to use Quickflix Service on Samsung Android SmartPhones A compatible Samsung Galaxy Android SmartPhonewith Operating System (OS) Android 4.x (Ice Cream Sandwich) For more information on compatible models head to www.samsung.com.au An Internet connection either 3G or WiFi. INTERNET ACCESS Note: Your data consumption is not included in your subscription or introductory offer. Please consult your Internet Service Provider or Mobile Service Provider to confirm your data download limits and whether your plan is suitable for the Quickflix service. Chapter 2: Registering your Quickflix Service for Streaming I. Registration requirements To subscribe to Quickflix services, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid credit/debit card or Pay Pal account and an email address. This is to verify your identity and account information. II. Register a Quickflix account New Member: 1 Obtain a promotional code and offer from the Application a. Launch the application on your compatible SmartPhone by pressing the Quickflix logo 4 P a g e
b. Press Menu and then press Join Quickflix You ll be presented with the latest offer and instructions to sign up. You can sign up on your device by pressing the website address or alternative sign up via the internet on your PC or Mac. 2 Using your handset or an internet browser your computer to begin the sign up process a. Step 1: Login Details i. Enter an email address and confirm your email address in the next field ii. Enter a password and re-enter the password in the next field. Choose a password that is safe and easily remembered by you; your password needs to be a minimum of 6 characters iii. Enter the promotional code(if applicable) iv. Check the box if you would like to receive news and updates from Quickflix v. Click Continue b. Step 2: Contact Details 5 P a g e
Existing Quickflix Member: i. Enter your contact details c. Step 3: Choose your Package i. Check the box that corresponds to the package that you ve chosen ii. Click the Continue button which corresponds withthe package you have selected d. Step 4: Choose your Payment Options i. Select either Credit/Debit Card or PayPal as payment option and enter yourpayment details ii. You ll need to confirm you are over 18 and have agreed to the Terms and Conditions iii. Click Continue to complete your registration. You can now go back to your Samsung device; use the login details and start watching movies and TV shows 1 Add a streaming package to your account You will need a streaming package attached to your account in order to watch movies and TV showson your Samsung device. a. Check the box that corresponds to the package you have chosen and click on Select to confirm You are ready to start watching movies and TV shows from your Smartphone. III. Managing your account To view your Quickflix account simply head to: www.quickflix.com.au login and click on My Account. IV. Managing your devices To modify details on your account head to www.quickflix.com.au and go to My Account > Manage My Devices, here you can view all your registered devices and deregister an existing device. 8 P a g e
You may register up to 5 devices to your Quickflix account. A device may only be registered to one Quickflix account at a time. Up to three devices may be use at the same time to stream titles. Your account may be placed in quarantine if you exceed the device limit. If your account has been placed in quarantine please contact Member Care on 1300 138 644 9 P a g e
Chapter 3: Using Quickflix Streaming i. Browsing movies, TV and News collections Once the App is loaded onto your device you ll be able to access the Quickflix Streaming service. To watch movies and TV shows you ll need to sign in with the email address and password you created when you first registered for the Quickflix service. You will be prompted for your email address and password when you first stream a movie or TV show. Alternatively you can sign in from the Menu option at the bottom of the Quickflix application screen. Figure 1- Home, Movie detail, TV Series detail, News, Search and Menu screens 10 P a g e
Browsing: The home screen contains popular titles on the stream service, the content are rotate on a regular basis You can browse by genres by tapping on either Movies or TV, then tap on Genres drop down on the top left hand corner If you know the name of the movie, actor or director you can use the Search function. This is available by tapping on the magnifying glass at the top right hand corner. 11 P a g e
PLAY: Browse and find the movie or TV show that you would like to watch, tap on the PLAY button 12 P a g e
The movie will automatically start once it has finished loading. FAST FOWARD: Currently this option is not available, it will be available in the coming months REWIND: Currently this option is not available, it will be available in the coming months PAUSE/RESUME: Tap the screen during play back, the pause button will appear. Tap on button to pause and tap again to resume. STOP: Use the back key will stop the play back and return you to the previous screen. I. Classification, Parental Controls Setting Classification All content on the Quickflix service is rated in accordance with government censorship ratings (G, PG, M, MA15+, and R18+ in Australia). Refer to the Australian Government website http://www.classification.gov.au/ for more details on classification of content. You can view your current parental control settings on the handset by: Tap on Menu > Login > Parental Controls 13 P a g e
Parental Controls Setting I. To change your Parental Controls setting head to www.quickflix.com.au, login to your account then hover the mouse pointer over My Account and select Parental Controls. 14 P a g e
a. Check the box Enable content restrictions for WatchNow to enable the classification settings b. Tick on the classifications that you want to restrict on your account except Sony Bravia which is set up from the device c. Click on Save Changes you will be prompted to enter your account password and assign a 4-digit PIN When viewing a restricted title on the Samsung device, you ll be prompted to enter this PIN to continue viewing II. Reasonable Use Policy Reasonable Use Policy can be found in our Terms & Conditionsatwww.quickflix.com.au Breach of the policy may result in your account being suspended. Chapter 4: Faults and Troubleshooting I. Basic Troubleshooting If you experience difficulties with your Quickflix service and the problem is not obvious we recommend you follow the steps below: 1 Check if your device is fully functional with other services. Try opening another application on your SmartPhone 2 Make sure your Internet is working; try browsing Internet on your SmartPhone and if you are connected via WiFi ensure that the firewall is not on 3 Perform a application reset; exit the application and go back in again 4 Try watching a movie on Quickflix after you have performed Step 1 3. If your problem is not resolved contact Member Care on 1300 138 644 Frequently Asked Questions I ve pressed PLAY but the movie is not playing? Depending on the speed of your Internet connection or mobile connection, you may need to allow a few minutes for the movie to buffer before the title starts to play. If the title does not play after 3 5 minutes try the troubleshooting tips set out below: 1 Check if your device is fully functional with other services. Try opening another application on your SmartPhone 2 Make sure your Internet is working; try browsing Internet on your SmartPhone and if you are connected via WiFi ensure that the firewall is not on 3 Perform a application reset; exit the application and go back in again 4 Try watching a movie on Quickflix after you have performed Step 1 3. You can check the file size of each movie or TV episode by going into the detailed synopsis of the selected title. 16 P a g e
Every movie or TV episode will have a different file size. If you are concerned that it will affect your download limit please contact your InternetService Provider or Mobile Service Provider or Carrier and choose the right download plan to avoid excess data charges. How fast does my internet connection need to be? You will get the most from your service with a minimum connection speed of 800Mbps. If you are using mobile data to access the Quickflix service please be mindful of your data usage allowance set by your Mobile Service Provider. We suggest you contact your internet or mobile service provider if have any concerns with excess data usage. I m unable to stream titles from a WiFi network. If you are connected to a public WiFi, you may be prevented from streaming titles if the WiFi connection has a firewall in place Is there a limit on how much I can watch on the Quickflix Streaming service? The Quickflix fair use policy applies to our Unlimited Digital Service. Refer to the service Terms and Conditions on www.quickflix.com.au for more information. Can I record Quickflix movies or TV episodes? No. Quickflix movies & TV series are only available to stream directly to your licensed device and cannot be downloaded or stored onto any other device. What is the Video format and quality of the streaming? Movies and TV series are streamed at480p (Standard Definition). The CODEC used is H264. Please note: some titles may only be available in Standard Definition format. Are subtitles available with movies through the Quickflix Streaming service? No, there are no subtitles on movies or TV series through the Quickflix service (note: foreign films may provide inbuilt subtitles however there is no option for the viewer to turn it on or off using the remote control). The overall picture or audio quality of the title is poor, what do I do? Ensure you are logged into the Quickflix website and click on Contact Us to email our Member Care team or contact Member Care on 1300 138 644 17 P a g e
My movie started streaming but has frozen and won t restart Check to see whether your internet connection or mobile data access is still active. Exit the Quickflix service then go back into the Quickflix application again. Attempt to play the title again or select another title. If you are still experiencing problems, please email us by clicking on the Contact Us or call our Member Care team on 1300 138 644 How can I stop my children viewing inappropriate content? All content on the Quickflix service is rated in accordance with government censorship ratings (G, PG, M, MA15+, and R18+ in Australia). You can set parental settings by heading to www.quickflix.com.au select My Account from the main menu and "Parental Controls" from the drop down menu.
