PROGRAMMABLE TIMER OC7171A-T Start-Stop-Reset Timer Six Digits Display Parameter Memory Four Set Point Relays Two Analogue Outputs RS232 and RS485 Mains or DC Supply Model OC7171A-T is a 6 digit Timer with three inputs START, STOP and RESET and two programmable functions as a Timer with a display incrementing between the Start and the Stop signal or as a Timer with display refreshing with the Stop Signal. The Timer Mode is selectable in the Menu Step Fn dsp as Cont or St-St. In the Cont Timer Mode the display increments after the START signal and stops with the STOP signal. The Time value remains at the display. With the next START the display continues to increment by adding the new time value to the previous one. The display can be set to Zero (or to a programmable PRESET) with the RESET signal. In the St-St Timer Mode the instrument starts the operation with START and cumulates the time increments in internal register. After the STOP the Time will be displayed. After next START the increments are cumulated internally and added to the previous increments. After a STOP signal the display shows the addition of the first and the second measurement. A control signal at the RESET input resets the internal counter to zero (not the display). The internal Time Base generates increments 1mS increments. By using the dscale in the menu, the increments can be set for 10mS, 100mS, 1s or 10s. When the RESET input is hard wired with the START input at the terminal block, the counter will be set to Zero after each START. Owner s manual 5
1 KEYBOART MENU ACK UP DOWN SET The key MENU opens the program menu. The required parameter will be confirmed with ACK and set with UP or DOWN. The flashing digit - Cursor can be positioned with ACK. The sign and the decimal point can be set when the flashing digit is positioned outside the display view (no flashig digit visible). The key UP sets the decimal point, DOWN the sign. The key SET terminates the programming mode and the display returns into the measuring mode. 2 MENU (Instrument with all Options installed) SP1 Set Point 1. HSt 1 Hysterese SP1. SP2 Set Point 2. 7 OPTIONS BOARD The Options Board contains two Analogue Outputs 4-20mA and -10 +10V, two serial Data Ports RS232 and RS485 and two Set Points SP3 and SP4. Potentiometers P1, P2, P3, P4 are for calibration of the Analogue Outputs. The calibration can be activated in the H-TEST ( 8) Sub Menu. Owner s manual 9
8 H-TEST and CALIBRATION Service Menu H-TEST is available for Testing, Calibration of the Time Base and Calibration of the Analogue Outputs. During the instrument is switched-on press the key MENU until the display shows HtESt. The test steps can be advanced with the key MENU. Return steps are possible with SET. Segments: HCF.128 All segments will be illuminated. With the key MENU the HCF-Function is activated. The HCF-number defines the Range of the Menu. HCF 128 defines Instruments without options. Each Option has a binary number added to 128: 1 SP1, HSt1 16 Analogue output 2 SP2, HSt2 32 baud 4 SP3, HSt3 64 rs-adr 8 SP4, HSt4 Combinations define more build-in options, such as: HCF.0 Without Menu, the menu is completely blocked. HCF.144 Menu (128) and Analogue Output (16). HCF.240 Menu (128), Analogue Output (16), Baud Rate (32), Address (64). After the selection press ACK to store the settings. Calibration: By applying the key MENU again the calibration of the Time Base for the Frequency Measurement is activated. The display shows CAL.XXX whereas XXX a three digit number is. This code can be set with UP or DOWN and represents scaling of the internal X-tal Time Base. A value of 10 increments represents 0.1Hz difference at input frequency of 10 khz and a display value of 10000.0. After the selection press ACK to store the settings. The calibration has been precisely set during the production at the factory. Set Points: By applying the key MENU again the Set Points SP1-SP4 are energized and the corresponding LEDs illuminated. Analog Output Selection: dac12 or dac16 will be selected in accordance with the build-in hardware option. Analogue Outputs: By applying the key MENU again the Analogue Outputs (Option) are activated. The output signals are available at the instrument s terminals and can be calibrated. The display shows: Out -10, Out -5, Out 0, Out 5, Out 10. By applying the key MENU again the display shows StArt and switches into the measuring mode. Owner s manual 10
