3 SESSION 1: SYNOPSIS AND CHARACTERS Activity 1: Synopsis Read the synopsis of the play and answer the questions with your classmates.! These are two words you must remember if you want to be a good detective. Frank wants to be a detective and his secret love, Geena, has the same ambition. When Frank tries to tell Geena how he feels his best friend, Lucy, tries to stop him. She is jealous because she wishes that she could be Frank s girlfriend. Frank gets angry with Lucy and says he never wants to see her again. Lucy tells Frank that one day she will get revenge. What will happen, will detectives Frank and Geena stop her? is a story of love, revenge, team work and achieving your dreams. *DETECTIVE : a person who investigates crimes *JEALOUS : the way you feel when somebody has something that you want *REVENGE : when you do something bad to somebody because they did something bad to you. What does mean? Why do you think it is important for a detective to keep calm? What other characteristics are important for a detective to have and why? Use the words below to help you. 4 SESSION 1: SYNOPSIS AND CHARACTERS Activity 2: The Characters There are three main characters in the play: Frank, Geena and Lucy. Read the following three descriptions of the characters. Using the information you have after reading the synopsis of the play, and try to match the descriptions to the characters. She is Frank s good friend but she is secretly in love with him. She is a jealous person and can become very nasty when she doesn t get what she wants. Who is it? He is in love with a girl and wants to confess his feelings to her. They both share the same dream job. Who is it? Her goal is to be a detective. However, before she can be a great detective she must learn one last thing how to stay calm. Who is it?
5 SESSION 1: SYNOPSIS AND CHARACTERS Activity 3: Sequence of Events Number the sentences from 1 to 7 in the order you think they happen in the play. Lucy is jealous and she tries to stop him. For the final test, they must work together to stop a thief. Lucy tells Frank she will get revenge. At the beginning, Frank wants to tell Geena that he loves her. 5 years later, Frank and Geena meet again. Frank says he never wants to see Lucy again. When they meet, they have one final test to become detectives. Do Frank and Geena pass their final test? Do they become detectives? What do you think?

8 SESSION 2: UNDERSTANDING THE PLAY Activity 3: Find the Thief! Imagine you are a detective who is looking for a thief. You are interviewing a witness who saw the thief. 9 SESSION 3: THE ENDING Activity 1: Stop, Thief! Listen to the part of play when Frank and Geena have to complete the last part of their detective exam to stop the thief from stealing the Nicasso! 10 SESSION 3: THE ENDING Activity 2: Revenge What is revenge? As a class, try to write your own definition of revenge. You can write some ideas here: Imagine the following situation: You are meeting your best friend, Sam, at the cinema to watch the new Jurassic World movie. When you arrive, you and Sam buy some popcorn and cold drinks and chat about how long you have been waiting for this movie and how excited you are about seeing the special effects. Suddenly, Sam sees some other friends from his football club. They are going to watch The Minions. Sam spends some time talking to them and then tells you that he is sorry, but he would prefer to watch The Minions with his other friends. You can t believe your ears. How could Sam do this to you? He is your best friend and he knows how much you want to see Jurassic World! You are furious with Sam, and you have to watch the movie all alone. Would you get revenge on Sam? Do you believe that revenge is a good thing or a bad? Does it really make you feel better to get revenge? Discuss these questions Suspect with your 3 classmates.
5º & 6º EDUCACIÓN PRIMARIA 11 SESSION 3: THE ENDING Activity 3: Synonyms Look at the dialogue from the end of the play, when Frank and Geena finally catch Lucy (Track 13). Read it as a class. Choose a synonym for each of the underlined words from the list below and write it on the corresponding line. boy - good-looking - envious - jail - more intelligent - coward anxious - unattractive Geena: Geena: Hi Lucy! It s been a very long time, but now you are under arrest! Oh guys, you re so much smarter now! We already knew that! Yes we are. (To Frank.) But Do you really think I am so ugly? Geena: Geena: (Lucy and Geena fight, Geena wins and arrests Lucy.) Geena: Geena: Don t be so jealous Geena. Oh girls, they are so possessive, aren t they? Yes they are. Can I get your phone number? We can be friends again. Sure! Could you write it down for me? Of course. Get out of my way, you wimp. Eeerrr! Oh gosh! Don t get so nervous Geena!! You are the best ever! Remember!!, my dear. (To Lucy) Yeah! Keep calm, my dear and don t ever call me wimp. Let s go to prison Lucy! Oh no! Well done Geena! Better than you!! Now read the dialogue again using the synonyms.
