English & Urdu Text : Presentation : Khalid Iqbal Shoaib Sobani
Smiling face, sporty built, short, immaculately dressed and soft spoken: these are attributes of none else but Akhlaque Rizvi, a popular figure of the batch of 79. His family belonged to Lukhnow, a city where civilization, creeds, customs, mores and language had a divergent identity. Lakhnavis have so internalized the label of the etiquette, After you sir, only after you... and the train departed
Like a prototype Lakhnavi Akhlaque was organized, polite and dead right in speech mannerism. He adored games and was fond of organizing fun- laden sports activities. He was the champion of sack race. After being elected to the coveted position of Gymkhana Secretary of the students union, Akhlaque organized the annual sports in a memorable way. It was for the first time that a torch was lit and was carried through the main thoroughfares of the city on its way to the stadium where the event was planned.
After graduation Akhlaque worked in Pakistan for a while and then proceeded to England. Those were golden times for the expatriates in that country and Akhlaque made hay while the sun shone. He practices as a very seasoned physician in North London.
He has been able to attain a life style that any individual could even remotely dream of. He is married to a doctor and and has three charming daughters. Akhlaque Rizvi excels in hospitality and classmates that attended The London Reunion of 2010 will always cherish the warmth and hospitality offered by his family to itszenith.
PERSONALITY UPLOADED ON 02 TH APR 2011 Dear Shoaib Thanks for presenting another gem of 79 group. I feel fortunate to know Akhlaque well. During the initial days of Dow and in the dissection hall we were in the same group and cadaver and we started the dissection of the same perineum ( no pun intended). My roll number was 246 and Aklaque's was either 250 or 252. The saying 'Happy go Lucky ' befits him. Akhlaque always had a wide genuine smile on his face and always active looking, ready to run the sprint. He was not only the sac race champion, he won almost every athletic event during the first year and second year competition. He had the table full of prizes which were at least more than one dozen if not more. He used to practice which used to start early in the morning around 5 in AM before coming to college in the morning. It only tells how motivated and determined he was since his early days. No wonder he is so successful in later life. Akhlaque, I would like to hear more from you. May God bless you with the best. With best regards.
