Gal: ThinManager Certificatin Test Lab 3 The gal is t expand the functinality f ThinManager by deplying sme new features. This will include: Cnfiguring IP cameras and Camera display clients. Cnfiguring a Freman s ffice with Virtual Screens. Install a 4K mnitr in the bss s ffice. Deply Office applicatins t an Engineer ffice with WinTMC. The Why: The Freman Office has 16:9 wide screen mnitrs but the HMI is designed in the 4:3 fr mat. Virtual Screens allw the wide screen desktp t be partitined int ne large and three small 4:3 thumbnail display client verlays. Swapping was enabled s that a right click n a thumbnail screen will swap it t the main area fr a larger display. The three thumbnail verlays are active and the peratr can bserve changes in them when they are in the thumbnail mde. The fremen will need t shadw their prductin znes t mnitr prductin when in their ffice. The plant manager wants the latest 4K mnitr but it was fund that the large reslutin made it t hard t see the details. This desktp culd easily be set t fur 1920x1080 verlays with a Virtual Screen template. Hwever, since the HMI and ther imprtant prgrams weren t written in a 16:9 reslutin this didn t d much fr the manager. A custm layut was created giving him a duble wide desktp at the bttm f the screen and three 4:3 verlays n tp s he can keep a cnstant eye n prductin and plant peratins frm his desk. Swapping was nt turned n as he has enugh real estate t see the HMIs in a 1:1 frmat. The engineers are nt gd candidates fr thin clients because they need high pwered PCs fr develpment, cding, cmpiling, and CAD. They can use the WinTMC client t deliver the Office Suite t their PCs, thugh. If WinTMC is installed n their PCs, they can cnnect t an Office server thrugh ThinManager t simplify the maintenance and management f their ffice suite. Links: This is an pen bk test. The Hw- Cnfiguratin Steps: Add an additinal Remte Desktp Server. Add tw IP cameras. Create a Camera display client. Define and deply a VNC shadw display client. Deply Virtual Screen display clients, in bth the fremen s ffice and plant manager ffice. Deply three Terminal Grups and terminals. Fremen with 2 wide screen mnitrs Engineering with tw WinTMC clients Management with ne 4 K mnitr. Display Servers: Remte Desktp Server Open the Display Server branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Server icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the RDS Servers icn and select Add Remte Desktp Server. Add a new Remte Desktp Server Prductin-RDS-15 = 192.168.1.15 with administratr as user and 12345 as passwrd. Nte: It is assumed that this Remte Desktp Server has been prperly cnfigured with the Remte Desktp rle added, user accunts created and added t the Remte Desktp User Grup, and grup plicies applied. Cameras Open the Display Server branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Server icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the Cameras icn and select Add Camera. Add Camera_72 with an IP address f 192.168.1.72 using the RTSP-TCP streaming prtcl. Use Admin as the Username and 12345 as the passwrd. Use access-media/media.amp as the Custm URL. Right click n the Cameras icn and select Add Camera. Add Camera_73 with an IP address f 192.168.1.73 using the RTSP-TCP streaming prtcl. Use Admin as the Username and 12345 as the passwrd. VNC Servers Open the Display Server branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Server icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the VNC Servers icn and select Add VNC Server. Add a VNC Server called PackingPanel01_222 with a VNC Server IP Address f 192.168.1.222 and a passwrd f 12345. Right click n the VNC Servers icn and select Add VNC Server. Add a VNC Server called PackingPanel02_223 with a VNC Server IP Address f 192.168.1.223 and a passwrd f 12345. These are panels prvided by the packing line OEM. This will enable them t be shadwed remtely. Nte: The VNC Server wuld need t be turned n in these panels. Display Clients: Camera Open the Display Client branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Client icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the Camera icn and select Add Display Client. Define these display clients: Create a Camera Display Client called Cameras. Use the defaults except: Chse 2x1 in the Chse Camera Overlay drpdwn. Uncheck All Cameras Available fr Overlay_1 n the Overlay Camera page and add Camera_72. Uncheck All Cameras Available fr Overlay_2 n the Overlay Camera page and add Camera_73. This will create a display client that shws bth cameras at nce. Terminal Shadw Right click n the Terminal Shadw icn and select Add Display Client. Name the Shadw Display Client Shadw_Any. Use the defaults except: Keep the All Terminals Available checkbx selected. This will allw yu t select any terminal t shadw. Uncheck the Interactive Shadw checkbx. Virtual Screen Display Client: The Fremen Office has 16:9 wide screen mnitrs but the HMIs are written fr a 4:3 reslutin. Virtual Screens will allw the fremen t use all the space f the wide screen desktp withut distrting the HMI image. The plant manager wants a 4K mnitr but the 3840x2160 reslutin is t hard t see. A Virtual Screen can be created t divide the 4K mnitr int fur 1920x1080 desktps. Since fur desktps have limited functins he will get a custm cnfiguratin with mre useful display clients Freman HMI Virtual Screen: Open the Display Client branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Client icn at the bttm f the tree. Side02 = Shadw_Any Use the defaults except: Check the Virtual Screen Specific Muse Buttn Mapping checkbx. Select the Muse Buttn Mapping buttn and set Buttn 3 (Right Muse) t Swap. Set the Swap Destinatin t Main. Side03 = Desktp Use the defaults except: Check the Virtual Screen Specific Muse Buttn Mapping checkbx. Select the Muse Buttn Mapping buttn and set Buttn 3 (Right Muse) t Swap. Set the Swap Destinatin t Main. This will create a cnfiguratin fr a 16:9 wide screen that shws 4:3 sectins with varius applicatins. Right clicking n a thumbnail will swap it t the large main screen. Manager s 4K Virtual Screen: Right click n the Virtual Screen branch f the Display Clients tree and name the virtual screen ManagerOffice. Use the Add buttn and add fur verlays with these settings: Name Left Tp Width Height TpLeft 0 0 1280 1024 Center 1280 0 1280 1024 TpRight 2560 0 1280 1024 Bttm 0 1024 3840 1136 TpLeft = Alarms Use the defaults except: Center = HMI Use the defaults except: TpRight = HMI_2, Shadw_Any, Cameras, and Packing_Machines Use the defaults except: Select the Selectr Optins buttn and uncheck the Aut-hide Selectr. Check the Enable Tiling checkbx. Select the Tiling Optins buttn and check Tile Display Clients at Startup. Bttm = Desktp Use the defaults. Sessin Scaling: ThinManager added sessin scaling in ThinManager 9. This can be used t deliver applicatins written fr ne reslutin t be displayed prperly n anther. These labs are based n HMI applicatins develped fr 1024x768. The display n different reslutins can be enhanced by setting the scaling settings. Open the Display Client branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Client icn at the bttm f the tree. Alarms Display Client Right click n the Alarms display client and navigate t the Sessin Reslutin/Scaling Optins page. Check the Dn t Use Screen Reslutin checkbx and select 1024x768 as the reslutin. Biler Display Client Right click n the Biler display client and navigate t the Sessin Reslutin/Scaling Optins page. Check the Dn t Use Screen Reslutin checkbx and select 1024x768 as the reslutin. HMI Display Client Right click n the HMI display client and navigate t the Sessin Reslutin/Scaling Optins page. Check the Dn t Use Screen Reslutin checkbx and select 1024x768 as the reslutin. HMI_2 Display Client Right click n the HMI_2 display client and navigate t the Sessin Reslutin/Scaling Optins page. Check the Dn t Use Screen Reslutin checkbx and select 1024x768 as the reslutin. Terminals: Open the Terminals branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Terminal icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the Terminal icn and select Add Grup. Define these three Terminal Grups: FremenOffice. This grup will have 2 thin clients. Engineering. This grup will have 2 thin clients. Management. This grup will have 1 thin client.
