This is the most personal CD I ve recorded in many years. Having arranged most of the material myself and recorded with close friends, this is the type of album which is a joy to make, because of the love and care associated with its creation. Produced by my long-time friend, the very talented Chong Lim and recorded by Carl Schubert, and performed by great musicians à la Stuart Fraser, Craig Newman, Nigel MacLean, Brett Garsed, Blair Harris and Tim Hook, with vocals by Janine Maunder, Michelle Serret-Cursio, Rod Davies and Lindsay Field, plus the incredible support of Mark, Helène and Kylie at Mark Gogoll Entertainment, and of course the amazing love of my family, Amber, Madi and Sam I have indeed been one lucky fella! There are also a few surprises on here, with Opera buddies Roger Lemke, Roxanne Hislop and Kevin Noonan. We didn t limit ourselves to the Isles with this selection. The American songs came out of a link in the lyrics in The Maid Of Culmore, where the poet talks about finding his love in America. The songs are mainly folk in origin, or of a singer/songwriter genre where the melodies and messages, be they from Robbie Burns hundreds of years ago or Leonard Cohen merely months ago, have a timeless feel to them. They speak to me, and hopefully to you, in a profoundly direct and personal way. In essence the songs represent the Endless Days quality that only great songs can transcend.
