Dolby 3D: What the Industry is Saying Even more impressive was the Dolby Labs and Phillips demo of Dolby 3D. Embodied in a 4k 54 inch display, the demo delivered bright, clear and detailed moving images. Very watchable! Viewing angles were particularly impressive: even from far off to the side, the 3D effect was still present, and the picture was so crisp and clean that it almost took a minute to realize we were looking at 3D footage it's among the first TVs we'd want to gather around with our friends and watch a movie in 3D. Dolby has a glasses-free 3D display in its booth, and it is drawing big crowds. The display was co-developed by Dolby and Philips, and Dolby is showing some gorgeous 3D content to demonstrate the technology. the prototype 4K 3D TV and mobile versions being demonstrated at Dolby's NAB booth make us hopeful for the future. As with all displays -- especially those that support 3D -- you'll really need to see to believe, but we had an opportunity to do just that, and walked away very impressed....it was very impressive, and the 3D effect was quite apparent.
