Unit 8 The Notting Hill Carnival The Notting Hill Carnival is a huge London carnival about a million people come to be in the carnival or to just watch it. It happens every August. There are about 70 bands with their own music, costumes and carnival queen. The costumes are very important for the carnival. Clary Salandy started designing costumes years ago. Her carnival queen is a young woman called Tamiko, who has had lots of experience. She puts on her carnival costume it s very comfortable because it s not as heavy as it looks.
