Preface The lessons here give light, common, everyday conversations for a foreigner, enough to make you accepted in a new way. Maybe you also want to learn more, once you got started. As for method of learning it is all up to you. We decided to respect Cebuano as an intuitive language, and present it learning-by-doing. Learning a language is hard work and extreme fun mixed together. The grammar here is very simplified, only meant to present a few rules that make learning easier. In Supplementary we sometimes go a little deeper in grammar. We try to adjust grammar to English terms, please forgive us, God and Cebuanos. But there is a shortcut to learning any new language: use every small opportunity to speak and write Cebuano. It may seem scaring and dull in the beginning, but soon it appears to be very rewarding. May you enjoy reading and using as much as we enjoyed writing. The authors
