He has served as a guest conductor for the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and many others. Baldner was a prize winner in the International Competition for Conductors at the Academia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has participated in numerous recordings and productions for radio and television. Baldner served as chair of the Department of Instrumental Conducting at Indiana University from 1976 to 2000. During his tenure at IU Jacobs School of Music, Baldner has conducted over 150 orchestral concerts and 30 operatic productions.
