You may borrow up to 15 books or other items, using your student card on selfissue machines. They will be automatically renewed on the date they are due to be returned, unless reserved by someone else, up to a limit of 12 times. There are two automated return slots next to the Welcome Desk on Level 1. Please ask in the Help Zone, Level 1 The most recent papers are online - please ask in the Help Zone, Level 1. Printed copies of earlier years are shelved in Short Loan, by the Library Welcome Desk. The Platform (Level 3) offers group study space, including bookable pods for up to 6 people. In addition there are 4 Student Presentation Rooms in the Library and bookings for these, and the pods, are made through the Library website. Chromebooks are available, free of charge, from the self-service locker in the foyer next to Café Central in the Forum. The Library is open 24/7 during semester, with access to the JHB Building only by Brookes Smartcard after 21.00. Full details of Library opening hours may be found on the Library website. Please keep your personal belongings secure when you are in the Library. We strongly advise you not to leave belongings unattended even if you will be away from the desk for a short time. There are 229 PCs available in the Library on levels B, 2, 3 and 4. More are available in the Forum (40 PCs), JHB level 4 Teaching Rooms (170 PCs plus stand-ups on all floors). PCs are also available in the Fuller and Gibbs Buildings. Print Anywhere machines are located in the Library on each level, and in the Forum. For help please ask in the Help Zone or at the Welcome Desk on Level 1. You are welcome to bring in lidded / spill-free drinks to the Library and cold food is allowed but please no noisy, smelly or messy items. Vending machines are available on the Platform and water fountains can be found on each landing. Please remember to clear up as you leave. You should only reserve an item if it is out on loan, is at another Brookes library or you are rarely on campus it is quicker to find the book you want by going to the shelf and finding it yourself. Reserved books can be collected from Level 1 near the Library Welcome Desk. For in depth subject help, please consult the Subject Help pages on the Library website, where you will find contact details of Academic Liaison Librarians for every subject or simply ask in the Help Zone on Level 1. There are 2 Library Training Rooms: Basement (JHB B09) and Forum (JHB G02).
