Begin your answer on page 5. EITHER: QUESTION ONE One of the purposes of a figurative composition* can be to convey a story. Discuss this statement with reference to one or more named classical art works. In your answer: analyse one or more figurative compositions that convey a story draw developed conclusions about the ways in which the features and effects of the figurative composition are designed to enhance the message of the narrative. * A figurative composition is an art work representing forms that are recognisably derived from real life and / or myth. OR: QUESTION TWO Classical artists often enhanced* the appearance of their art works to attract the interest of the viewer. Discuss this statement with reference to one or more named classical art works. In your answer: analyse, with specific examples, the ways one or more art works were enhanced draw developed conclusions about the extent to which these enhancements added to the visual and / or emotional appeal of the art work(s). * Enhancements may include, but are not limited to, additional structural components, decorative features, and the use of signs or symbols.
