ТМ-04 Multichannel long range UHF alarm transmitter Operating manual Sectron Ltd. www.sectron.com TM-04 description TM-04 is a long range, multichannel, UHF alarm transmitter working if frequency band 410 470MHz. TM-04 uses LARS data transmission protocol. In case of alarm event on some of the inputs it generates coded message. This coded message is sent to the alarm station via LARS data transmission protocol. Each one of the inputs can be programmed as normally opened or normally closed input. TM-04 has three connectors: J1, J2 and ANT (fig.1) 1.J1:Connector with 10 contacts with following functions: - Power supply 12V DC, - 8 digital alarm inputs, Near J1 are located test button and status led. 2.J2:Programming connector with following functions: - Programming of operating parameters, - Firmware upgrade, - Serial channel for data link with alarm panel. Operating parameters are set with TRDavidProgrammer software. 3.ANT:BNC connector for external ¼ λ antenna. ANT J2 fig.1 J1
Before begin Before you begin using your TM-04 long range transmitter you have to do following: - Program operating parameters, - Mount device in supplied metal box, - Connect - terminal to metal box using supplied cable, - Mount the antenna, - Connect alarm panel outputs to alarm inputs of transmitter, - Connect power supply, - It is desirable to ground metal box. After successful self diagnostics status led will blink with frequency about 4Hz. Important remarks: For trouble free operation do following: - Active part of the antenna must be outside metal box, - Ground must be fed to metal box, - Use only shielded cable, whit shield connected to - terminal of the transmitter. Test button - Use this button to send manual test signal to remote alarm station, - Empty events buffer memory. Contacts description (J1): Group 1 Group 2 (Only when grouping is enabled) Alarm inputs Power supply Test button Status led Self diagnostics Status led states are described in Table1. Table1. Status led Lights constantly Blinks with 4Hz rate Blinks with 1Hz rate Blinks 6 times Meaning Self diagnostics has fail. Operating parameters are programmed and self diagnostics pass succesfully Device is in programming mode Low battery
Alarm messages On inputs activation or detecting a problem codes listed in Table2 are sent. Table2. Input1 А1 B1 Input2 А2 B2 Input3 А3 B3 Input4 А4 B4 Input5 А5 B5 Input6 А6 B6 Input7 А7 B7 Input8 А8 B8 Low battery A9 B9 Test 0 Event buffer memory Alarm transmitter has internal buffer memory capable of storing up to 16 events (1 alarm and 1 restore of each one of the inputs) When buffer is full no more event are stored until at least one cell is freed. Buffer memory can be forced to release all 16 cells if test button is pressed. Operating parameters program: Following operating parameters can be programmed using TM04SIA programmer and TRDavidProgrammer software: 1. Transmitter ID if grouping is enabled then must be set for second group also, 2. Main frequency and system address, 3. Up to 7 backup frequencies with their own system addresses, 4. Transmitter group if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 5. Packet repeat count if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 6. Test signal repeat count if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 7. Parity check type (odd/even) if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 8. Smart test(enabled/disabled) if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 9. Test signal period(hours) if grouping is enabled must be set for second group also, 10. Input type(n.o./n.c.)-can be set for each one of the inputs, 11. Input message(a1/b1 A8/B8) -can be set for each one of the inputs, 12. Use backup(enabled/disabled) -can be set for each one of the inputs, 13. Input retrigger(enabled/disabled) -can be set for each one of the inputs, * 14. Grouping(enabled/disabled)** 15. Output RF power can be programmed on 5 steps. 16. Modulation(2.2 or 3.3kHz) 17. Master password-password to access transmitter operating parameters up to 15 symbols, *Rettrigering is used to send alarm signal again after period programmed in field Alarm retrigger.retriggering continues until hard reset!!! **Transmitter can be separated into 2 independent groups.contacts 3 6 belong to the 1 st group, while contacts 7 10 belong to the 2 nd group!!!
ТМ-04 commx TM04SIA Programmer J2 Programming of operating parameters: Connect transmitter s power supply. Connect TM04SIA s power adapter. Connect TM04SIA programmer to transmitter and to PC s Comm port. Run TRDavidProgrammer software. Software will scan all Comm ports and will find transmitter automatically. After these steps you are ready to program your TM-04 long range transmitter with following parameters: Main frequency: 1. Set main frequency in Channel1 field, 2. Set system address for channel1 in Sys1 field. Backup frequencies: 1. Set 1 st backup frequency in Channel2, 2 nd backup frequency in Channel3 and so on, 2. Set system address for each backup frequency in fields Sys2 Sys8. Important remark!!! If no backup frequency at given position, then it must be set to 0, so transmitter can know that there is no frequency! Otherwise transmitter will try to send at this frequency!
Inputs configuration: 1. Choose input message: A1/B1 A8/B8, 2. Choose input type: NC/NO, 3. Set use backup frequency: Enabled/Disabled, 4. Set input retrigger: Enabled/Disabled, Protocol parameters: 1. Set UnitID and Group: 000A 777P, 2. Set packet repeat count: 0 255, 3. Set test period time in hours: 0 255h, 4. Set test signal repeat count: 0 255, 5. Parity check type: even or odd, 6. Smart tests: enabled/disabled,* 7. Alarm retrigger periods: 0 255min, Note: If grouping is enabled set above parameters for second group too! *Smart tests feature allows automatic test signal to be delayed on each signal transmission. Each sent signal resets automatic test counter. Modulation: 1. Choose modulation depth: 2.2kHz/3.3kHz. Output RF power level: 1. Choose power level using slider Power. Note: Output power level can be set on 5 steps: 1-1W, 2-1.5W, 3-3W, 4-4W, 5-5.5W After pressing Program button all data will be transferred to transmitter and all operational parameters will be set. Note: If you start program without transmitter connected you must press Scan button after transmitter is connected, so that program can know which Comm port to use! Reading of operation parameters: Press Read TR button and enter password for reading(default password is SECTRON_U). If correct password has been entered data will be read and displayed. Changing read password: Press Change M Pass button. Enter old password and new password. If old password is correct the new one will be stored in memory. Password can be up to 15 characters long. Restoring manufacturer password: Press Reset PWD button. Warning that all operational parameters will be erased will appear. If you press OK all data will be erased and manufacturer password will be set. Manufacturer password is: SECTRON_U. You can use this function each time you forgot your password.
Saving settings to file: Press Save settings button and enter file name. After pressing OK settings will be saved in file. Reading settings from file: Press Read settings button and choose file. After pressing OK settings will be read from file and will be displayed.
