Please complete and return the completed form to: Application Monday, Results of scholarship applications will be mailed to students and their parents in June, 2017. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS See list of available scholarships on reverse of this page. Complete application form in full. Return completed application to the Blair School by the deadline: M ARCH 13, 2017 Ask your school music teacher and/or private teacher to complete and return a recommendation form (attached). One recommendation is required. If possible, two recommendations are preferred. A representative of the Blair School will contact you to schedule your audition time after your application is received. Auditions will not be scheduled without the student s portion of the application. Available Precollege s 2017 2018 MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS Available to Provision Requirements Myra Jackson Blair Senior Outstanding high school (and occasional 8th grade) students who plan careers in music Tuition for private instruction and class instruction in theory, music history, musicianship, and accompanying and/or chamber music at Blair Maintain a B average in each Blair subject, perform in one MJB recital each semester, and attend two faculty/ large ensemble Pianists are expected to participate in accompanying and/or chamber music class, and eligible instrumentalists are required to audition for the Youth Orchestra program. Participation in Blair s Certificate Program is encouraged. Myra Jackson Blair Junior Outstanding students in grades 5-7 who are serious about music study Tuition for private instruction and possible class instruction in theory and chamber music Maintain a B average in lessons, attend one MJB honor scholarship recital each semester and at least two faculty/large ensemble concerts each semester Gilbert Memorial Clarinet students (or saxophone if no clarinet students qualify) with at least one year of previous study at Blair School of Music. Tuition for private instruction and class instruction in music theory, music history, musicianship, and accompanying and/or chamber music at Blair. Maintain a B average in each Blair subject, perform in one MJB recital each semester, participate in the Youth Orchestra program, and attend two faculty/large ensemble Participation in Blair s Certificate Program is encouraged.
