The newly redesigned and streamlined theater program offers many options for students interested in continuing their training and experience in theater. The new Stritch Theater program mixes rigorous academic training and hands-on experience in every facet of a professional theater production. Degree Programs We offer a brand new structure of theater degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Theater with concentrations in Performance, Technical or Musical Theater as well as an accessible Theater Minor. Students in the theater program degree tracks develop creative and critical thinking skills in both individual and ensemble work environments, making a theater degree uniquely appealing to a variety of future career options. THEATER Productions In addition to coursework, Stritch operates a full-scale production season in the state-of-the-art Joan Steele Stein Center for Communications and Fine Arts that is open to all Stritch students. Performances span from classical to contemporary theater and from intimate studio productions to large-scale musicals in our 400-seat Nancy Kendall Theater. Students and professional artists work closely to develop a show from concept to performance with student involvement at every step of the creative process. Students can receive course credit for their involvement in productions, and this can count towards General Core requirements and/or a minor or major in theater.
