YOUR PATH TO BECOMING A GLOBAL CITIZEN STARTS HERE... Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going. - RITA MAE BROWN In our increasingly globalised world learning languages is important for many reasons it expands cultural horizons, breaks down barriers and increases opportunities for young people interested in living or working abroad. In addition, studies have shown that studying a foreign language can improve memory, brain power and use of English. The study of foreign language is a key element of broadening perspectives and setting students upon the path to becoming global citizens. Film is a powerful tool in assisting students to learn a language. As a medium it has the power to inspire, fascinate and educate, helping to make a foreign language more accessible, and the learning of it more enjoyable.
