As this device is not directly integrated with CRE/RPE, no connection to the computer is required to follow this guide. There is an application offered by CAS which will connect the deli scale to a computer and program it directly. Powering on the Scale 1. Plug the scale into a power outlet with end 1 of the cable from the back of the scale. 2. On the left side of the unit please note the location of the power switch. 2 P a g e
Preparing the Scale for Programming The keypad placeholder (insert) must be first removed from the sheath. 1. Take hold of the tab at the bottom of the insert, and pull down. 2. Completely remove the insert from the sheath. 3 P a g e
Familiarizing yourself with the Scale Before beginning programming please familiarize yourself with the scale. 4 P a g e
PLU Programming 1. Press 1 (on the Number Pad). 2. Press MODE (on the PLU Keypad). 5 P a g e
PLU will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will set the number on the deli scale that is associated with the item. 3. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). 6 P a g e
The following will then be displayed: PLUno will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. 4000 will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. 0 will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE screen. 4. Enter any number from 1-4000. This is the number that will be associated with the item. Note: It is HIGHLY recommended to keep track of which items are associated with which inventory. In this example: Press 1 then press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). 7 P a g e
icode will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will enter part of the item number from Inventory Maintenance in CRE/RPE. 5. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). The following will then be displayed: icode will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. EntEr will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. 0 will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE screen. 8 P a g e
6. Using the Number Pad enter the last five digits from the item number that is entered in Inventory Maintenance of CRE/RPE. For example: If CRE has Egg Salad (Item Number: 200540), you will then enter 00540 on the scale. 7. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). Name will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will set the name for the item on the deli scale that will print on the labels. 9 P a g e
8. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). The following will then be displayed: name will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. 01.01 will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. o o 01. = The first row.01 = The cursor position on that Row 10 P a g e
9. Using the PLU Keypad enter the name of the item: Use SHIFT (on the PLU Keypad) to capitalize letters. Use C (on the Number Pad to clear). Note: There are two rows of information. Press the Down and Up arrows (on the PLU keypad) to change which row you are currently editing. Note: The limit is 30 Characters on both of the two Rows. In this example we selected the Down arrow to add a second row of text (Salad). 11 P a g e

Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). PriCE will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. Here we will enter the same price (per pound) configured for the item in Inventory Maintenance. 13 P a g e
13. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). The following will then be displayed: PriCE will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. EntEr will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. 0.00 will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE screen. 14 P a g e
Using the Number Pad enter the price (per pound) for the item: Enter the same price entered in Inventory Maintenance. Enter 863 for $8.63 per pound. Use C (on the Number Pad to clear). 14. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). LiFE will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will set the shelf life for the item. Note: Shelf life will only work correctly when the Date and Time have been properly configured. 15. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). The following will then be displayed: Life will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. EntEr will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. 0 will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE screen. 16. Using the Number Pad enter the number of days that the item will be good for on the shelf (Shelf Life). 16 P a g e
17. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). tare will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will enter any additional weight that may be associated with the container that the item is packaged in when sold. Note: Make sure that Barcoded is selected on all items where packaging is used in Inventory Maintenance. 17 P a g e
18. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). The following will then be displayed: tare will be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. EntEr will be displayed on the UNIT PRICE screen. 0.00 will be displayed on the TOTAL PRICE screen. If there will be no tare for the item then proceed to step 20. 19. Using the Number Pad enter the tare for the packaging of the item: Enter 005 for 0.05 of a pound. Use C (on the Number Pad to clear). 18 P a g e
20. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). GCodE will then be displayed on the WEIGHT screen. This is where we will enter the 2 which CRE will interpret as a Price Embedded Barcode. 21. Press PRT/* (on the Number Pad). 19 P a g e
