School of Nursing Simulation Lab AV Capture System Revised Addendum No. 1 AU Project Number: 15-035 02/24/17 APPENDIX 1: REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: There are 3 distinct areas for the A/V capture system in the Auburn Nursing Building. A. SIMULATION LABORATORY: The Simulation lab, which features: 8 simulation rooms (Sim 1 [3170B], Sim 2 [3170A], L&D/Trauma [3148B], ICU/Hemodynamic [3148A], Sim 3 [3147B], Sim 4 [3147A], Sim 5 [3142B], Community Health [3142A]), 4 control rooms (Control B, C, D, E), (Addendum No. 1) 4 debriefing rooms (3166, 3164, 3146, 3144), and 1 AV room (3156). B. OSCE ROOMS The OSCE rooms adjacent to the Sim lab, which feature: 4 OSCE rooms (3179A, C, D and F) which will be used for standardized patients only, and 1 long control room (Control A [3179]). Notes: See E2.62 which indicates a wall phone to intercom to the charting station to notify the student that they may enter the OSCE room. An intercom is desired from the control room to the OSCE room. This could be a desk mic that would intercom to the OSCE room and the charting station serving both purposes. The sum total of Specialty Codes and Equipment Schedule for the Sim Lab and OSCE rooms is located on A7.24. For example, the installation/equipment quote should include items A1.1-A1.5 plus A1.8 and the intercom system (telephone or otherwise), etc. Desired items: 1. Control room speakers shall have a minimum of 2 headphone or earbud jacks so that in the event that all simulation rooms for that control room are being used, the faculty/staff can hear only what is going on in the room they are working with. (Addendum No. 1) 2. A telephone intercom system from the sim room to the control room for the student to simulate picking up the phone and reaching a simulated location such as the hospital laboratory, the physician s office, the blood bank, etc. while recording the student s and the control room operator s response on the audio debriefing feed. In addition to this communication device, an intercom from the control room to an overhead speaker (voice of God) in the sim room is desired to give direction to the student from the control room.
School of Nursing Simulation Lab AV Capture System Revised Addendum No. 1 AU Project Number: 15-035 02/24/17 3. A highly desired item to attach to the mic in the control room for the manikin s voice is a pitch bending device which would allow a standard female operator s voice to be made to sound like a young child or a deep-voiced male. This is not on the equipment list, but would be favorable. 4. A bank of hand-held radio devices (walkie-talkies) which feature an ear piece such that a confederate in the sim room could be guided by the faculty member in the control room or for communication from one end of the sim lab to the other. This is not on the equipment list, but would be favorable as well. C. SKILLS LABORATORY The second floor Skills Lab with A/V capture desired in the large lab bays (on both ends of the skills labs) 2145R, 2135E, with the control room for the skills lab being in the AV closet 2135X. In each bay, there is 1 ceiling mic, 1 wall mounted camera, and 3 ceiling cameras. Also, please note that a ceiling mic and PTZ camera is desired for each lab demonstration area and is marked with a camera in the ceiling plan.
