Ten Tips to Prepare Yourself to Get In Front Of A Crowd And WOW Them Out Of Their Seats

Transcription:

Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Isabella Cascarano's beauty, charismatic personality, great sense of humor and hard work brought her to alternate among movies, television, theater, red carpets, hosting events and being featured in music videos. Isabella began her career in the entertainment industry at an early age, participating in multiple theater productions throughout Venezuela and shared the stage with the famous musical Flamenco group Gypsy Kings. Her beauty took her to become the face of Revlon Makeup in South America. She also modeled in many television and printed commercials such as Ford, Miller, Nissan, Benetton, Statfox Edge Magazine, Crazy Daisy Jeans, Angel Sanchez (clothing designer for Revlon), Franco Montoro, Olga Bolagnos, Mayela Camacho and National Lampoon's Cattle Call calendar, just to name a few. As an actress, she worked in leading and supporting roles in films, television series and soap operas, such as "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," El Padrino 2 (Latin version The Godfather), 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea, "Black Water Of Echo's Pond," National Lampoon's Cattle Call, La Vida Por Un Rato de Placer (My Life For a Moment of Pleasure), Camino a la Justicia (Way to Justice), "Secretos (Secrets), "Carne Asada and Cold Beer" "M M Beverly Hills," "Atrevete," The Nice Show, just to name a few. She was also a dancer and choreographer for "Venus and Furs". Isabella has just begun acting in a comedy series titled What They Don t Want You To Know and is working on the forthcoming movie titled La Mejor Lucha (The Best struggle ). She is also working with Rick Dees and Dr. George on the Radio Moving 93.9. Her experience as an actress brought her to produce and direct her own dance shows such as "Romanceros Gitanos (Gypsy Romanceros)" "Almas Gitanas (Gypsy Souls)," "Sueño Gitano (Gypsy Dream)," "Flamenco

Roots," and "Luces y Sombras (Lights and Shadows)". She also worked on music videos for Marco Antonio Solis "No Puedo Olvidarlo (I Cannot Forget It)" and progressive jazz and funk artist Edgar Lopez's "Life And It's Changes". Isabella is a spiritual person who became involved in philanthropy, dedicating part of her time as hostess and supporter for the Starlight Children sfoundation. She aims to raise awareness and to help children with terminal medical conditions. She is invited to attend red carpet events such as The Golden Globe Awards, Latino Film Festival, National Hispanic Foundation of the Arts, among many others. We caught up with Isabella and spoke about her passion for acting, her career and her life. Isabella, you worked in El Padrino 2 which was filmed in the US and in San Miguel, Mexico. What was your experience? It was a very good experience. It was a great and very professional production. This was also my first experience in being trained with weapons and especially the AR15, a very sophisticated rifle and dangerous. I loved my role as Dominga. She s one of the right-hands of Kilo, the Latin Godfather. El Padrino 2 means The Latin Godfather part 2. I could experience danger and power in this female character that I played. Dominga is a sexy Chicana who cares only about her money and nothing will stop her from getting her way. I feel very proud and I am very thankful to the people that gave me the opportunity to be a starring actress in this movie. I am looking forward to its premiere. How did you connect with the actors? I just had an amazing connection with the whole crew: the actors, the director, the producer, all the production company. The people in San Miguel de Allende Mexico were supporting us while we were shooting and that was a very nice experience, too. It is a very small and beautiful town and people there are nice and warm. Shooting there, was one of my favorite experiences on set. This is a very powerful, dramatic, exciting movie. I would like to come back and visit all those people that worked day and night to make it all happen. Also, the food was very good. Although, I am not used to eating spicy food every day, specially three times a day. It was fun for me and now I really like it a lot. The cook on the set became family to me.

You are going on pre-production for the comedy series What They Don t Want You To Know and also the movie you re currently working on, La Mejor Lucha (The Best struggle. I m very excited about my new comedy show (Smiles.) It is a funny character. I play the actress and model who really wants to be discovered in Hollywood, like almost every one who wants to be an actor. In this role, my character is very dumb and always wants the spotlight on herself, which is very funny. As an actress, I like that I can play different and even opposite roles in my career. The movie La Mejor Lucha for Cine Mexicano, is a real drama lifestyle. I play a very young character, single-mom that is struggling with her little girl. This movie is going to start in Cine Mexicano and then go worldwide this year. How do you feel that Spanish actors such as Javier Bardem are now receiving more recognition? Javier Bardem deserved to win the Oscar for the movie No Country For Old Men. The role that he played would be easier for an American actor. I can just imagine what it would be like to play a very powerful role in another language! I feel connected with actors like him because we come from another country to work our passion that is our acting career. It becomes a big challenge when the opportunity comes to you, because you want to be the best that you can. You appreciate that, more than anything and it is just an amazing feeling. I just want to tell Javier congratulations and I m so happy for him. I believe that the talent is everywhere no matter what language you speak or who you are. Only be yourself and you will be discovered. Having worked on so many series and films, what are some anecdotes that you would like to share with us? (Smiles.) I could write a book if I start telling anecdotes on the set during my films. One of the most recent anecdotes occurred when I was filming El Padrino 2." I had a scene in a horse stable - I had to run and yell passing by a horse in a narrow area. I was very concerned thinking: what if the horse starts kicking me when I pass by it? You know they get excited and nervous if you are behind them. So, all in the set were laughing hard at me. In the end, my fears actually helped me to be more scared during the filming of that scene. It worked perfectly. Now, when you watch the movie, you ll remember this and you ll understand.

When you read a script, how do you create or give life to a character? First, I really need to understand the role I m going to play. Research about the role and start thinking to myself what if you really are that person. It s important that I become the person, the character itself and not only learn the lines. Maybe, as I consider myself a profound person who can empathize, that makes me very intense in my character roles. You produced, directed, choreographed and did the casting for several theater musicals as well. How did it influence your outlook as an actress? That makes me stronger as an actress because I understand what the director and producer wants from the actor. It s also exciting to produce, direct and choreograph my own dance shows like: "Romanceros Gitanos (Gipsy Romanceros)," Almas Gitanas (Gipsy Souls)" and "Flamenco Roots". How important is it to keep on taking acting classes once you have worked on film and theater? I want to keep growing as an actress. It s very helpful working with your acting coach to strengthen your decisions on acting. And learning new technics gives you experience to feel free and confident on the set. We know that you worked as a host and helped children with terminal medical conditions through the Starlight Starbright Children s Foundation. Yes, that is the most important part of my life! I love helping kids. They really touch my heart when I am around them. I ve been doing this for many years and it fills my heart as a person. The main purpose in my life is to make them happy and see a smile on their face. Someday, I would like to have my own theater to have different activities and performances and help them more to fulfill a dream every day. What do you enjoy doing when you re not acting? When I am not acting I like to spend time with my family and friends. Specially my little nephews: Franquito and Cononio, whom I love so much. Another thing that I enjoy doing whenever I find time, when I am not working is to go to help the kids as I was talking before. Very simple things make me happy. Isabella, is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers? I am working on an interesting project, a new show with Rick Dees and Dr. George on the Radio Moving 93.9. I love radio and this show is specially gratifying because I am working with experienced professionals. I would also like to say that to feel good, the most important thing is to share the positive energy with all the people in your life and the Universe. That allows you to be a better person. Work hard for your dreams. You can visit Isabella Cascarano s IMDb link: www.imdb.com/name/nm2571910
