DR. SIMON BARBER ACADEMIC Birmingham City University Dr. Simon Barber is a researcher, writer and lecturer. As a Research Fellow in the Birmingham Centre for Media and Cultural Research at Birmingham City University, Simon is particularly interested in songwriting, and the relationships between creative workers and industry. He has published in a number of journals and worked with a range of individuals and organisations within the cultural industries, including Pearson Education, The Scarborough Jazz Festival and British jazz label Edition Records. Simon is a member of the editorial board of the jazz journal Epistrophy, and of the executive committee of IASPM UK and Ireland. He is also one half of the songwriting team Sodajerker and the producer and co-presenter of the popular itunes podcast Sodajerker On Songwriting. BRYAN CORBETT SESSION MUSICIAN The Brand New Heavies & Alesha Dixon As well as performing under his own name, Bryan has been performing with renowned artists and bands such as The Brand New Heavies, Tony Christie, Ben E King, Us3, Alesha Dixon, Ella Eyre, Sigala, Sam Bailey, Gary US Bonds, Ruby Turner, Jan Smit, Funk De Nite. He has toured and performed around the globe as a guest artist, and with his own bands regularly performs at festivals, concert halls and clubs throughout the UK. Bryan is featured as a soloist or in horn sections on numerous recordings and also as a soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Big Band Małopolski in Krakow, Poland. He was a winner of the Jerwood Rising Star at Cheltenham International Festival and his Quartet has previously won the poll winner prize at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

PETER DARLING SONGWRITER & COMPOSER Leeds College of Music Peter Darling is a composer/songwriter based in Leeds. He writes music for production company WMP and his work has been used on Viceland s Bobby and Harriet Get Married, Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Coronation Street, This Morning, Hollyoaks and Celebs Go Dating. His music has also been used in advertising campaigns for Lacoste, Timberlands, Mercedes AMG Petronas, Epson, and the Wrigley s litter awareness campaign. Peter writes and records his own original material, and co-writes with other songwriters and performers, having his music played on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, local radio and the BBC Music Video Festival. Peter also lectures in Composition and Songwriting at Leeds College of Music on the Popular Music and Production degrees. ANDREW MARSTON RADIO PRESENTER BBC Introducing Andrew Marston is a radio presenter, music producer and club DJ, known for his extensive work with musicians with BBC Music Introducing. Some examples of Andrew s work include responsibility for taking Sam Isaac to the Glastonbury Festival and the BBC Electric Proms, Pencil Toes, Luke Leighfield, The Anomalies and Pegasus Bridge to BBC Maida Vale (and Radio 1 s Big Weekend, while securing the brother/sister duo Muchuu a support slot with Florence & The Machine and the Temper Trap and a spot on the BBC Radio 1 playlist. Andrew s radio shows broadcast every weekend on BBC Hereford & Worcester, he often presents the BBC Introducing Mixtape on BBC 6 Music and hosts the 10-minute takeover with Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1.

DAVID COMBES SESSION SINGER & VOCAL COACH LCM, ICMP & CAPITAL VOICES Over his diverse career David has built a strong reputation on the London session circuit singing with, amongst others, Beyoncé Knowles, Westlife, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Lionel Richie, and Kylie. He can also be heard on numerous prime time TV shows including several series of The X Factor, Britain s Got Talent and the ITV series Superstar. He has been part of the vocal coaching team for the audition tour on both the BBC and ITV s productions of The Voice and for Sky TV s Sing:Ultimate A Cappella. In recent years he has been part of the backing vocal team for Robbie Williams No.1 album Swings Both Ways, Bradley Walsh s no.1 album Chasing Dreams, Alfie Boe and Michael Ball s album, Together and Bring Me The Horizon s album Sempiternal. David has recently performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as part of their Symphonic Rock programme having spent spring 2017 touring with their celebration of the music of Elvis, he followed this tour by singing at Proms in the Park with the BBC Concert Orchestra. As part of the vocal team Capital Voices he also recorded a special arrangement of Al Jarreau s track Spain for Spice Fusion s second album Trying Hard 2. Late Summer and Autumn 2017 brought trips to Moscow for the Moscow Autumn Cup Latin and Ballroom dance championship and to the Royal Albert Hall for the 65th International Latin and Ballroom dance championship with The Ross Mitchell Band, as well as coaching the lead actor on the film Bohemian Rhapsody and recording the backing vocals for Mamma Mia 2, due for release in Autumn 2018. He can also be heard on numerous other film soundtracks including, amongst others, Pan, The Corpse Bride, Evita, Nine and The Island.

KATE OCKENDEN KEYBOARD, VOCALIST & SONGWRITER The KoGo Project Kate is a successful television and film composer, regularly working for clients including BBC2, CBBC, CBeebies and Sky TV. She has written copious amounts of production music for EMI, and scored several independent feature films and documentaries. She also tours with Britain s Got Talent finalist Julian Smith as his keyboard-vocalist. When she is not in the studio or on stage, Kate shares her passion for music production, composition and performance at Worcester and Wolverhampton Universities. GEOFF OCKENDEN SESSION MUSICIAN The KoGo Project An in-demand session bassist for over 20 years, Geoff delivers a reliable, creative groove with a killer tone for the job, whether playing walking lines as the in-house bassist for Ronnie Scotts, laying down parts for BBC recordings or rocking out on the festival circuit. Geoff s groove has underpinned shows with artists including BGT finalist Julian Smith, Nigel Kennedy, The Average White Band, The Real Thing, Womack and Womack, and Ruby Turner. His production credits include BBC, Sky, SMN and UPL Films.

PAUL ADAMS SESSION MUSICIAN Shaun Klush Elvis World Tour (UK Leg) & Sir Ken Dodd Paul is a busy musician and teacher. His credits include everything from cruise ships, theatres, resident bands and arenas, taking him to some of the most prestigious venues in the UK. He has worked at the London Palladium and Wembley Stadium, as well as playing large venues and festivals in the USA, and a number of European F1 circuits. Equally adept on bass guitar and double bass, Paul is comfortable in a variety of styles, and has worked with some of the UK s busiest function bands, tribute shows, and appeared on stage with many great performers and entertainers including Derek Watkins, Joe Pasquale, Eddie Jordan, Sir Ken Dodd and Elvis (Shaun Klush).
