Audition Information for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Four Seasons Theatre will present A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC from August 10-19, 2012 at The Playhouse at Overture in Madison, WI. Auditions will take place on Saturday, April 28 from 2 pm to 5 pm and Sunday, April 29 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Callbacks will be held on Monday, April 30 from 7 pm to 10 pm and Tuesday, May 1 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Due to the number of available roles, actors invited to callbacks may be asked to attend both evenings. How to sign up for an audition: Advance sign up for auditions is required with signups beginning Monday, April 9, 2012. Email your name, phone number, and preferred audition date audition@fourseasonstheatre.com to make an appointment. Please also indicate the role/s you are interested in. You will receive a confirmation email with your exact time and audition location once your request is received and processed. Video submission for those who are unable to attend in person auditions may be submitted by email to info@fourseasonstheatre.com by 5 pm on Friday, April 27. Email submission should follow the same guidelines as in person auditions and should include the calendar with marked conflicts, completed audition form, and a link to a video audition. What to prepare: Please prepare 32 bars of a classical musical theatre piece (Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, Styne, etc). Please have your music clearly marked and in a 3-ring binder with pages copied back to back. A professional accompanist will be provided. A cappella auditions are discouraged. Schedule: Our first cast meeting will be Sunday, June 10. Rehearsals will start Sunday, July 1 and run through August 9 with performances August 10-19 (see draft schedule on page 4) at The Playhouse in Overture. Please bring your calendar to the auditions so you can note any conflicts at that time. A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Character Breakdown Fredrik Egerman: (baritone) A successful widowed middle-aged lawyer. He is married to the 18- year-old Anne and has one son from his previous marriage, Henrik. Anne Egerman: (soprano) Fredrik's new, naive wife. Henrik Egerman (tenor): Fredrik's son, 20 years old and Anne's stepson. He is serious but confused, as he reads the works of philosophers and theologians as he studies for the Lutheran priesthood. Petra: (mezzo) Anne's maid and closest confidante. Desiree Armfeldt: (mezzo) Self-absorbed, once-successful actress, now touring the countryside in what is clearly not the "glamorous life". Fredrika Armfeldt: Desiree's thirteen-year-old daughter, who may or may not be the product (unbeknownst to Fredrik) of the actress's and Fredrik's affair. Madame Armfeldt: (alto) Desiree's mother, who has had "liaisons" with royalty. This role has been precast and will be played by Madison actor Lori Poulson. Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm: (baritenor) A military dragoon who is Desiree's latest lover. Charlotte Malcolm: (mezzo) Carl-Magnus' wife. Frid: (speaking part only) Madame Armfeldt's manservant, age 45-75. Malla: (speaking part only) Desiree s maid, age 21-55.
