Transfigured Nights 2016 2017 Season Thanksgiving & Song The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration # Dallas, Texas

Prelude~ O praise ye the Lord! Thanksgiving and song To him be outpoured all ages along! These words from the beloved hymn by Henry Williams Baker serve as a fitting theme for the 2016-2017 season of Transfigured Nights, as we begin the series by celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. We have planned a rich year of music to follow from the Fauré Requiem with orchestra on All Souls Day; a Hymn Festival with the Imperial Brass in January; concerts by organist Jonathan Ryan and the Texas Camerata with world-renowned Paul Leenhouts, recorder; two additional Evensongs celebrating major feasts of the church; and our traditional Advent Procession of Lessons & Carols. In additional we are presenting an evening of light musical entertainment and desserts entitled Back from Bristol which will feature our talented musicians in a cabaret setting in Roper Hall. Our popular chamber music series Art Music Mondays returns for its sixth season with five concerts presented in the Performance Hall. We hope that you will join us often during the coming season and that your spirit will be refreshed and renewed by the musical and liturgical offerings for which Transfigured Nights has become known. The next page includes a complete listing of the events of the 2016-2017 combined series. Please keep it handy as you plan your activities each month.
