Remote Control Operation When you first switch the TV on, you will be presented with either the preview screen which shows the current program along with a brief summary of future programs or the full screen for normal viewing. Use the OK button to toggle between the two views. Page 1 of 13
Page 2 of 13 Use the Up/Down Button to scroll between the available channels when in the preview mode (small TV picture). When the desired channel is highlighted, press the OK button to select to view this channel on the full TV screen.
Page 3 of 13 Use the Up/Down Buttons to select the level of volume required. This works in addition to the normal TV volume control.
Page 4 of 13 Use the Menu button to select between On-Demand Movies and live TV. The picture has to be on the Preview mode before this button is pressed. When the menu is displayed, use the left and right arrow keys to select either TV or Videoclub. If Videoclub is selected, pressing the OK button will display the list of available movies, use the up and down arrows to select the movie you wish to watch, then press OK to play. When TV is selected, then pressing the OK button will show all the available TV programs. Use the Up/Down arrows to select the live TV program you wish to view.
Page 5 of 13 When the Videoclub option is selected, then you can use the Pause button to pause the movie, press it once more to re-start. You can also use the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons to Fast Forward or Rewind the movie. Pressing the Stop button will end the movie.
Page 6 of 13 When you have finished watching Videoclub movies, press the Exit Button to return to the Live TV/Movies menu. Then use the right or left buttons to select TV or Videoclub. If you want to watch another movie, select the Videoclub option again then press OK, and select the new movie you want to watch. If you select the TV mode, then pressing OK will list all the available live TV programs.
Press this button to change the aspect ratio (size) of the viewing screen. Press repeatedly to toggle through the screen sizes until the desired ratio is displayed. The aspect ratio can also be accessed via the normal TV remote control. Start Page From the TV Guide/Preview window, first press the MENU button on the remote control. This will take you to the START page. The START page is where you can select different applications. The available applications are detailed below. TV Mode This is your TV channels list and TV viewing mode, select this to see available channels. Select the option ALL to see the full channel list. Movies On-Demand Select the VIDEOCLUB option from the Start page, then select ALL and press the OK button. You will now see a list of all the available movies (currently 174). Select which movie you want to watch by using the Up and Down arrows, when you get to the desired movie, press the OK button and the movie will begin. You can use the Fast Forward, Rewind, Pause and Stop buttons to control your viewing. Page 7 of 13
When you have finished watching the movie, click the Exit button to return to the movie list, press the left arrow key or the Exit button again to return to the Start menu, from where you can select your next action, or use the left/right arrow keys to select TV, then press the OK button. Downloading On-Demand Movies To download a movie to a USB device for playback on another device, insert the device into the STB USB slot, select the movie you wish to record and press the Record button situated at the top of the remote control, see below: The downloaded movie will be saved on the USB device in the STB, this movie can be played on any device that supports video playback. Media Browser This option allows you to play videos and music from an external device such as a USB Hard Drive or a USB memory stick. Please insert your USB device into the front of the Set-Top Box (STB) to view the available files on your device. You Tube Videos This option takes you to utube.com where you can select and watch online videos from the You Tube community. Page 8 of 13
Internet This option takes you to a web browser where by using the keyboard key on the remote control, see below:- This allows you to surf the net using the Virtual Keyboard for input. To go back, please press the TV button which will exit you from the browser mode. Recordings This option allows you to view recordings that you have previously downloaded to the USB device attached to the STB. Settings This option is for the configuration of the STB. YOU SHOULD NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO BY UK TV IN CYPRUS TECHNICAL SUPPORT STAFF. From any of these menus you can always go straight back to the TV by simply hitting the TV button on the remote control. Switching Channels Watching TV The simplest way to switch channels is to either use the Channel +/- buttons on the remote control, manually type in the channel number using the numeric keypad on the remote control, or by simply using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control. TV Guide / Preview Window From any full screen TV channel view, press the OK button on the remote control. This will take you to the TV Guide/Preview window. From here you can scroll up or down to whatever channel you want to watch. There are multiple pages of TV channels, just keep pressing the up/down keys to continue. The program will launch in the preview window, to switch to full screen mode, simply press the OK button. Subsequent pressing of the OK button will toggle between preview and full screen mode. To see a list of what is on that channel for the next day or days, press the right arrow key, highlight the day you want to see programming for and press the OK button. Press the left arrow key to return to the TV Guide. Seven Day Catch-Up On any channel that displays the yellow clock icon on the left hand side of the channel name, you can watch previously broadcasted TV programs. Use the up or down arrow keys to select the day you wish to view the broadcasted programs, press the OK button to list the programs, then press the right arrow key to highlight the available broadcasts, use the up or down arrow keys to select the program you wish to watch, then press the OK button. The program will start, you can use the navigation buttons, Fast Forward, Rewind, Pause to Exit to control your viewing, see below:- Page 10 of 13
Note Due to program airing times, some programs may begin slightly before the recording begins, use the Fast Forward button to go to the start of the program. If the first part of any program is missing, you will need to select the previous program prior to the one you want to watch, then use the Fast Forward button to go to the go to near the end of that program to enable you to catch the beginning of the program you want to view. When you have finished watching Catch-Up, simply press the Exit button to take you back to the Catch- Up menu, then press the left arrow to take you back to the channel list preview page. Setting Up & Using Favourites To select a Favourite Channel, use the up and down arrow keys on the preview page to select a channel that you wish to be added to your favourites, press the Yellow F3 button. Pressing the Yellow F3 button again will cancel the selection. When you have selected all your favourite channels, press the Green F2 button. You will see a drop down list of options:- By Number By Title Only Favourite Select Only Favourite, then press the OK button. Now the preview screen display will only show your favourites selections. To return to viewing all channels, press the Green F2 button again and select either By Number or By Title as required. Page 11 of 13
Changing the Aspect Ratio of the TV Screen Using the Change screen aspect button on the bottom left of the remote control. Press to see the various viewing options:- Combined Fit On Zoom Optimal Stretch Select the one that best fits your TV screen for the program or film you are viewing by toggling through the options. Sorting TV Channels List/ Movies List into a Different Order Press the Green F2 button to display the options menu. The options are:- By Number Will display TV channels by channel number. By Title Will display TV channels or movies in title order. Only Favourites Will display only TV channels that have been selected as favourites. Page 12 of 13
Setting a Program Reminder You can have the system automatically remind you that a program that you have set a reminder for has started. To do this navigate to the channel that you want to set the reminder on, click on the right arrow key to see the program guide (EPG), select the program that you want to be reminded about, then simply press the Green F2 button on the remote control. Now, no matter what channel you are watching at the time, the system will display a message that the program has started, pressing the OK button on the remote control will take you to the channel in question.
