JERRY AWARDS SHOW The Jerry Awards prgram culminates in a shw that recgnizes and hnrs excellence in high schl musical theater. The prgram is named fr benefactr Jerry Frautschi. The 2019 Jerry Awards Shw will be held n Sunday, June 9 and Mnday, June 10, 2019 at 7pm. Every award recipient and schl will knw that they are receiving an award in advance f the final shw. There are n acceptance speeches at the awards shw. The evening is filled with incredible perfrmances including medleys frm Outstanding Musical award recipients, sls featuring the Outstanding Lead Perfrmers, and grup numbers shwing ff the talent f the Outstanding Supprting Perfrmers, Outstanding Dance Perfrmers and the Spirit Award Recipients. Additinal infrmatin fr thse perfrming in the shw is prvided belw. SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS PERFORMING & RECEIVING AWARDS Directrs are required t submit music (pian/vcal, bass, and percussin parts) fr their Outstanding Musical medley and Outstanding Lead Perfrmer sls in May. Outstanding Musical award recipients will perfrm ne 4-minute medley r sng frm their prductin. Rehearsal Ntes: Each Outstanding Musical will be scheduled ne 45minute time t rehearse n stage with the either Friday, June 8 r Saturday, June 9, 2018. This rehearsal shuld be treated as a final dress rehearsal and schls shuld cme rehearsed and ready t run their number. Outstanding Lead Perfrmer award recipients will be gruped tgether in medleys f 8-10 students and will perfrm ne 32-bar cut (up t 1-minute in length) frm their rle. They may als be asked t perfrm backup t the ther perfrmers in their medley. These students are als eligible t perfrm in the Finale Number which clses the awards shw. Rehearsal Ntes: Each Outstanding Lead Perfrmer will be assigned t ONE Lead Medley. Each lead medley will have ne rehearsal fr music and blcking and ne rehearsal n stage with the band. Students are ONLY required t be at the rehearsals their medley is scheduled fr but they are REQUIRED t be at BOTH the music and blcking rehearsal AND the rehearsal n stage. Students will be assigned t a medley based n their availability. Outstanding Supprting Perfrmer & Outstanding Dance Perfrmer award recipients will perfrm a grup ensemble number. Outstanding Lead Perfrmers are asked t wear their cstume. Please cntact Karra Beach if yu n lnger have the cstume pieces. Outstanding Supprting and Dance Perfrmers are asked t wear black pants and will be given a Jerry Awards t-shirt t wear during their number. Spirit Award Recipients are asked t wear black pants and the t-shirt frm their schl s prductin. Outstanding Ensembles & Orchestras are encuraged t wear the t-shirt frm their schl s prductin. Orchestra Perfrmance: Students perfrming in the pening rchestra are asked t wear cncert blacks. PROPS & SCENIC PIECES: Prps and scenic pieces, unless key fr a particular perfrmance, are nt allwed. There will be 4 x6 platfrms lcated n the stage fr use by participants. These platfrms are static and cannt be recnfigured during the perfrmance. The diagram is finalized in April each year.
