Chamber Concerts 2017 2018 Old Divinity School, St John s College and Kettle s Yard, Cambridge
Kettle s Yard Music Thursday Concerts at the Old Divinity School, St John s College Welcome to Kettle s Yard 2017-2018 chamber series. Once again, we open in the Old Divinity School in St John s College before returning to the House at Kettle s Yard in 2018. The opening concert on 12 October is the Cambridge debut of cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Since winning BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016, Sheku has become one of the biggest stories in classical music. His soulful performance at the Brit Awards and a BBC4 documentary about his musical family have brought him and his work to a wide audience. The season features a wealth of award-winning quartets and trios: among them the van Kuijk, Castalian, Ruisi and Piatti string quartets, and the Busch, Isimsiz and Linos piano trios. Rising stars include the Italian pianist, Alessandro Taverna and the guitarist Sean Shibe. Seasoned performers and old friends include two Wigmore Hall favourites, the pianists Andreas Haefliger and Christian Blackshaw. Another highlight is the first concert back in the House featuring the Heath Quartet and pianist Tom Poster.
