Stand-up comedian EDDIE IZZARD is described by The New York Times as "one of the most popular comedians in the world, with a razor-sharp wit and absurdist style." He has starred in the TV series The Riches as Wayne Malloy and has appeared in films such as Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Thirteen, Mystery Men, Shadow of the Vampire, The Cat's Meow, Across the Universe, Valkyrie and Victoria & Abdul. Then, back in the repertory after nearly 10 years, comes that great audience favorite Company B, a Paul Taylor work set to popular 40s hits like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Rum and Coca-Cola sung by The Andrews Sisters. And finally, Tchaikovsky s Piano Concerto No. 2 is a thrilling masterpiece that pays homage to the spirit and grandeur of imperial St. Petersburg. Balanchine described it as a contemporary tribute to Petipa, the father of classical ballet, and to Tchaikovsky, his greatest composer. The Tiger Eyed World Tour will showcase BUIKA s many musical styles the deep sound of jazz, lovers rock, reggae, world music, soul, and more all meticulously chosen and well flavored with her profound Flamenco accent. This bold, multilingual dance company draws on their Los Angeles roots, blending Salsa, Afro-Cuban, hip hop and contemporary movement to create an invigorating blend of culturally-engaging, socially-conscious work that is athletic and visually stunning. Based in LA and founded in 2005 by Choregrapher Ana María Alvarez, CONTRA-TIEMPO takes an uncompromising approach to the ways in which artists function within communities and create their work. By intentionally engaging diverse audiences, cultivating dancer leaders, centering stories not traditionally heard on the concert stage, and using their engagement process to inform and continuously re-fuel the creative process, CONTRA-TIEMPO moves audiences to reimagine what is possible. CHINESE WARRIORS OF PEKING November 17, 2018 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $29, $39, $49* Knight Concert Hall Under the direction of Qui Jian, the CHINESE WARRIORS OF PEKING is an acrobatic show filled with high-intensity martial arts, live stage combat with thrilling weapon handling, juggling, and breath-taking acrobatics. Set during the Ming Dynasty (1368 1644), the Warriors tell the tale of two rival martial arts disciplines competing in the ancient Chinese capital of Peking.
