Awarded SID Peter Brody Prize, which awarded by Society of Information Display (SID) to a young researcher under age 40 who has made outstanding contributions in innovating the design and enhancing the performance of displays, on 2017. Had awarded Google Research Award and 4 times Page 1 of 22

SID symposium Distinguished Paper Award (2001, 2004, 2009, 2015), and a J-SID Best Student Paper of the Year Award (Advisor of the 1 st author). LC-lens for 3D & AR/VR: Proposed high-resistance LC-lens Array technology on 3D Display, AR/VR, 3D interactive, and light-field capturing technologies. The developed LC-lens technologies had been licensed and transferred to more than 10 companies. Is now collaborating with NICT Japan on see-through holographic display, which was published by Nature Communications on 2016. VR+EEG Goggle: Developed VR Goggle with EEG brain-wave detector for bio-medical applications, such as early stage visual degeneration detection of glaucoma, AMD, etc. Funded a start-up company, named CerebraTek, to mass produce the platform of VR+EEG, and to have more clinic trial test. Field Sequential Display: Proposed Stencil-FSC on 2009 to solve the Color-break-up without using high field-rate. Successfully implemented on the world largest 65-inch Color Filter-less PSVA-LCD with AUO. The average power consumption is lower than 40-Watts for a 65-inch TV. This technology awarded 2009 SID Distinguished paper award, 2009 J-SID Best Student Paper of the Year Award, and 2014 Gold Medal of National Invention Prize(Taiwan). AUO purchased all the related patents (totally 12 patents) on 2012, and is keep on collaborating with AUO to realize Stencil-FSC into mass production. Wide-viewing Angle VA: Developed Advanced MVA technology on 2004, to create 8-domain VA with only single data and gate lines. The proposed solution is not only for solving the color washout but also for self-overdrive to shorten the response time. This technology had been widely used on AUO s TV and monitor products, from 20-inch to 65-inch. It also won the AUO Bravo Award on 2005.
