The RSO is celebrating the natural beauty of Virginia s Blue Ridge through performances of great music of the past and present a spectacular array of colorful programs. From Mahler s imagined birdcalls to the real outdoors in Elmwood Park s new amphitheater, the season is full of variety and excitement. I invite you to experience as many of these live performances as you can together as a community relaxing and re-connecting. Programs include great works of masters like Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Schumann, and Beethoven; contemporary music from composing legend John Williams and Broadway icons Rodgers & Hammerstein; plus a world premiere commission that celebrates our region s mountain heritage by Roanoke s own fiddler and mandolinist Jeff Midkiff.
