Technician Setting up Adam Elementary On Monday, September 14, 2017 Demetria Hargrove spent a busy morning working on isupport request and setting up labs at Post Elementary. Demetria was soon called away to Adam Elementary to help with the movement and cleanup of equipment. With a good team of CFISD employees we were able to clean up and organize the technology equipment at Adam Elementary while also helping Mike Grimes load technology carts into his truck. Wells Elementary School Front Desk Dencio Cabitac of the Technology Service Center has spent quite a bit of time assisting Wells Elementary with the start-up of their new campus. On Monday, August 14 th, he assisted the front desk receptionist. He answered some questions concerning the new Raptor 6 logins, helped re-locate the front desk computer, and assisted them in getting their network printers installed to the front desk computer. Setup Mini Labs at Holbrook On Thursday, September 17,2017 Demetria Hargrove went by Holbrook Elementary for a service request and while there she checked their portables outside. Demetria noticed that quite a few of their portables mini labs had not been setup. She setup the mini laps in the portables that were staged and ready to be connected. Demetria verified they turn on and log in to the network. While there she also answered questions for staff members and checked the network closets. Technician Sync Lightspeed Equipment It s the beginning of the year, and that means classrooms are being put back together and prepared for the arrival of students. That also means some of the technology will have hiccups for various reasons upon being set back up. One such equipment experiencing occasional hiccups is the Lightspeed sound systems. On Monday, August 14 th, Chris Roberts service technician from the Technology Service Center visited a classroom at Andre Elementary where a computer was not sending sound out of the Lightspeed speaker in the ceiling. After troubleshooting the computer and speaker, he found that the media controller that sends the sound from the computer to the speaker was not synced correctly to the speaker. Kindergarten Caretaker Art Ramirez service center technician The Kindergarten area at Birkes Elementary was still outfitted with ViewSonic 17-inch, full screen (4:3 aspect ratio) monitors. Art Ramirez of the Technology Service Center took it upon himself to get them replaced since there is a surplus of spare widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) monitors right now. On Monday, August 14 th, Art swapped the old monitors of the student and teacher computers in Birkes Kindergarten area to the newer, widescreen monitors. Technician Supports Board Meeting Service Center Technician Crystal Gilbert stepped in to support the Board Meeting on August 14 th. The Board Meeting was at the Cypress-Fairbanks Instructional Center. Crystal was filling in for Bradley Mulligan who could not attend. Installs Vsoft Equipment for Receptionist On Wednesday, August 16th, Technology Service CenterTechnician James O Reilly set up the Raptor Label Printer and the Raptor Scanner at the receptionist desk at Willbern Elementary. Some of the campuses are receiving replacement label printers and scanners for their front desks. Technician Making Schools Ready Service Center Technicians are removing old technology equipment from classrooms. They getting the classrooms ready so teachers can use their new students laptops.
