3 About The Bread & Roses Theatre is an award-winning and innovative fringe pub theatre in Clapham, South London. A 40- to 60-seat fringe venue above The Bread & Roses Pub, the theatre programs a wide-spread variety of productions for local as well as far-reaching audiences. Equality, diversity and artistic quality are at the forefront of the theatre's programming, which features in-house productions as well as many visiting companies. The theatre regularly hosts touring shows and has worked with award-winning ensembles with decades of experience but also frequently welcomes and supports emerging theatremakers taking their first steps. The programme includes new writing, contemporary revivals, reinvented classics and occasionally also devised work, improvisational theatre, comedy events, family shows and physical theatre. Located within walking distance of several Underground and Overground stations in London Travel Zone 2 (Clapham North, Clapham Common, Clapham High Street and Wandsworth Road) as well as many bus routes nearby, the theatre sits in a brilliant location. Furthermore, the pub downstairs offers drinks, food, a beer garden and on Fridays and Saturdays often live music after the theatre performances. The theatre has been a recipient of the ICWP 50/50 Applause Award in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and was recommended by TimeOut readers in September 2015 as one of their six favourite small-scale theatres in London. The Bread & Roses Theatre is also one of the very few venues in London offering box office splits rather than upfront hire fees and is also listed on www.offwestend.com.

8 What we re looking for We are looking for diverse, intelligent, challenging and entertaining projects and have previously welcomed award-winning theatre companies as well as brand new ensembles. We are interested in anything from classics to new writing, drama as well as comedy and anything in-between. Beyond plays, we have also programmed opera, musicals, improv performances, physical theatre shows as well as children s and family shows. What counts is that your project is suitable for the size, equipment, shape and location of our venue. We are looking for innovative theatremakers who understand how to use the space to the best of its advantage. Most importantly we also want to work with companies who will do their best to promote their show and sell tickets and not take advantage of the fact that there is less financial pressure due to us offering box office splits, but instead use this to benefit everyone involved. Many companies who have worked with us in the past year have returned with further productions and we are thrilled to be building such positive creative relationships. What else you need to Visiting companies will need to provide and pay for their own technician but we are happy to help with recommendations. Running times can vary from 45 min. to 2.5 hours, but projects under 2 hours and including an interval are preferred. Projects over 80 min. must have an interval! There is no standard ticket price at the theatre but we recommend ticket prices between 6 and 14, depending on the running time and scale of each show. Through our online box office Line-Up there is an inclusive booking fee of 9% and our optional smartphone box office Fever charges 20% commission. These fees will be deducted before the box office split is applied.
