Homeothermic Monitoring System Computer System with Probe and Blanket KEY FEATURES NEW Easy to use LCD touchscreen Flexible rectal probe East to clean, flexible heating pad Multiple heating pad sizes available The Homeothermic Monitoring System is a closed loop temperature control system for small rodents. Utilizing a small, flexible rectal probe to monitor the animal s core temperature and a heating pad to provide heat input, the subject s core body temperature can be accurately controlled. The control unit receives temperature feedback from the rectal probe and adjusts the current to the pad accordingly. The easy to use LCD touch screen allows users to set a target temperature and clearly view the subject s current core body temperature, as well as the set temperature, at all times. Additionally, audible alarms can be set to advise the user should the animal s core body temperature deviate ± 2 from the set temperature. Heating pads are available in three sizes to fit all your surgical needs. The standard size is appropriate for mice and rats and fits nicely into standard stereotaxic instruments. Two additional sizes are available to the common stereotaxic instrument adapters. The pads are flexible enough to fully wrap the animal, which allows the animal to be warmed from all sides rather than just the front or back. Homeothermic Monitoring System Logo The Homeothermic Monitoring System is paired with the VentElite, another product that I created a sister-logo to compliment the match. This item needed to convey a sense of calm and serenity since its main purpose is to keep the animal comfortable while being tested. The logo shares a log of the same qualities and purpose as the VentElite which is described on the next page. Alongside the logo I also created a datasheet for the system., seen above. The datasheet was created using a template established by myself and Jared Kocyan for all Harvard Apparatus products. Overall I would say this product and its look are conveying a sense of flow through the logo s aesthetics and professionalism with the use of the Futura typeface. VentElite Logo Inspired by the term vent within the title VentElite I focused on illustrating a theme of air through typography and color use. One can see a coherent theme of waves in two main areas the ligature created between the first lowercase t and the uppercase E and the bottom portion of the name. These wave elements contrast the geometric lines created by the typeface in use: Futura. The logo is light with a white/gray color palette that stands out against the black background yet complements the Harvard Apparatus logo. Since the product itself is used for tracking the respiratory rate of its user there was a need to create a feeling of flow within the logo. The overlay artwork uses the blue as a fillter for the GUI screen that will be created by Jared Kocyan. Created By Alyssa Duprey overseen by Senior Graphic Designer Jared Kocyan at Harvard Apparatus. Project Creating a Website for Framingham State Univeristy s Green Team Prepared for: FSU Green Team Prepared by: Alyssa Duprey Overview The customer is Framingham State University s Green Team and all its current members. The purpose of this site is to be a place to be in the know with what events and programs Green Team is putting on. Essentially this site is meant to boost and maintain green behaviors and the like on campus. The intended audience is mainly Green Team members but also curious people who are interested in the green initiatives on campus and want to participate in our events. Also at some point we plan on having a monthly environmental poll on the site to see how green people are and how was can improve on their actions. Key: Dashed Lines = Potential growth Bold Lines = What will be created FSU Greenteam Website This is Framingham State University s Green Team website. I created this in a class called Interactive Design, which focused on creating websites using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. Above are a few pages from my proposal which was also due alongside the website s completion. I kept a vibrant theme of green earthy tones throughout the proposal and website itself. I also created the logo seen on the website as a whimsical take on the school s mascot: the ram. This website is crisp, clean, and holds great potential for future updates. Tool Tips & Steps Step 1 Cut avocado open with plastic knife. No worries of cutting your fingers because of the great guard! Step 2 De-pit avocado. Step 4 Enjoy avocado! Step 3 Slice avocado into perfect pieces. 100 S. The project with the highest difficulty was creating an app in Adobe InDesign CC. The project requested for us to make a fictional product and to make a logo for the product as well as an app showcasing its benefits. I modified a pre-existing item called the OXO 3-in-1 avocado tool by adding a hand guard (with the use of Adobe Photoshop CS6). The results were an earthy toned piece kept simple in style as to not overwhelm the viewer. Created By Alyssa Duprey Timeframe Four weeks (11/6/14 12/4/14) 5
WFSU-TV36 Logo The Framingham State University television station ran a contest for a new logo. They wanted to convey a friendly yet professional brand which is seen through the use of the thin yet strong typeface Avenir Next The FSU school colors (black and gold) are prominent yet not overwhelming. A sense of repition is created from the waves at the top of the sound line made from the W and V being connected. This shape was also inspired by FSU being on top of a hill, and the spike looks like a minimalistic hill. Less is more for this logo, and it won the contest and is a wonderful piece for WFSU-TV36 to use for promotional material. Created By Alyssa Duprey Timeframe One week (9/8/14 9/15/14) 6
Alyssa Duprey s Self-brand Logo This is my personal logo that represents who I am in a minimal way. Beyond my initials it illustrates my rounded personality, artistic abilities and sense of asymmetrical balance. The logo comes in two different forms for versatility: one with a purple circle (seen on the cover) and another where it is black and white (seen above). Version 1 Version 2 Version 3 Version 4 Version 5 Version 6 Version 7 Version 5 Version 6 Final Version VentElite Logo Sketches Recommendation from Charlene Herndon, Global Product Manager at Harvard Apparatus Alyssa s creativity and attention to detail are extremely impressive. I have had the pleasure to work with Alyssa on several projects during her time with Harvard Bioscience. For one project, Alyssa was tasked with creating a logo for a new line of products we would be launching. She took the time to understand the function and applications around the line, as well as the marketing message we were looking to convey with the logo design. Her preparation and presentation exceeded expectations, the new logo designs were exactly what we were looking for.
