CALL FOR ENTRY Country Heritage Park Presents 3rd Annual Art-in-the-Park Art Show & Sale Sunday, August 12 th, 2018 10 a.m. 5 p.m. Milton, Ontario art@countryheritagepark.com Country Heritage Park (CHP) is continuing along it s a path of building an exciting creative arts, heritage, and community engagement vision and welcomes the return of the very successful, Art-in-the-Park (AITP). The 3rd Annual art show and sale will take place this year on Sunday, August 12th, 2018! NEW! We are offering All RETURNING AITP ARTISTS (2017 & 2016) DISCOUNTED BOOTH SPACE FEES! Art-in-the-Park is a one-day outdoor/indoor juried, art show and sale featuring high caliber, original, art work by local and regional artists in the Park s unique facilities and settings. Artists will display and sell their work under the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment in Country Heritage Park s Milton area location. The Park sits at the crossroads of the urban and rural communities of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). One of the fastest growing, most concentrated, and ethnically diverse populations in North America with over 8- million residents (60% of the Ontario population) within a 90-minute drive to the Park.!1
The Park s natural setting and unique collection of heritage buildings, artifacts, and displays all collected on a pristine 80-acre site adjacent to Canada s busiest highway present a unique opportunity to stage and become the go-to location for Art-in-the-Park events and activities. Art-in-the-Park at Country Heritage Park (art@countryheritagepark.com) is continuing to be an art showcase, arts-education hub, and resource for supporting the exhibition and sale of the artistic works of local and regional artists. Presented by the CHP, our benefits will come from shared patronage. Art-in-the-Park will advertise in local and GTA, Toronto, and regional media, signage throughout Milton, extensive rack-card distribution, collaborative marketing, social media, Facebook, Twitter, and web-site promotions etc. Selection of Artists and How to Apply The artists must submit a completed application by the deadline and meet the conditions of participation to be selected. CHP is taking great care to ensure that artists selected will represent a diverse and high caliber show. DEADLINE for Submission of Completed Application: May 25, 2018 Acceptance Notification Sent to Applicant by: June 1, 2018 All applications will be juried. Jurors: TBC By entering, the artist warrants the work submitted is their original creation. Reproductions such as cards ARE permitted but reproductions larger than 6" x 9" are not allowed (Exception: Photography). Once your application has been accepted we will send an email notifying you. Upon acceptance you will receive an invoice and payment will be processed. You will receive further detailed information on the Art-in-the-Park event from art@countryheritagepark.com An application will not be considered complete until all items (1-5) have been completed and emailed to art@countryheritagepark.com 1. BOOTH COSTS (non-returning artists) Indoor Spaces Each indoor space in the buildings offers you the same amount of space as an outdoor space at the same cost. Cost of an indoor, 10x10 space: $125.00 plus HST ($141.25 total) Cost of an NEW ARTIST indoor, 10x20 space: $200.00 plus HST ($226.00 total) CHP has lots of unique and beautiful heritage structures that will enhance the art work exhibited within The beautiful Gambrel Barn and Puslinch Hall are newly added indoor locations Majority offer good lighting Most indoor locations do have hydro available Outdoor Spaces YOU MUST PROVIDE your OWN TENTS. The outdoor space offers you the same amount of space as an indoor space at the same cost. Show Details Show will occur rain or shine in the park Selected Artists are committed to full participation on August 12 th, 2018 from 10 am 5 p.m. Artists locations will be determined by the Art-in-the-Park Special Projects/ Volunteer AITHP Department Artists may only display or sell original works, and those that are consistent with the jpegs submitted for selection It is acknowledged and understood that all displays are exhibited at the owner s risk The onus is on the artists to eliminate and/or remove potential risk factors including potential hazards such as slips, falls and other trip-ups associated with their display Artists must unload and set up on Sunday, August 12 th between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. You will be able to pull up directly to your allotted booth space/building to unload. There is lots of parking available on-site at no charge. We ask that all set-up be completed by 9:30 a.m. and vehicles moved offsite and into parking lot (lots of space) Artists are not to leave, dismantle, or close their site prior to 5:00 p.m. (excepting necessary bio-breaks) There are public washroom facilities available on site Food vendors will be available Admission fee into the show is $5 Artists are responsible for providing staffing and managing their own sales. Artists will not be asked for a commission Art-in-the-Park at Country Heritage Park reserves the right to require the removal of any piece of art that offends any law or regulation or otherwise in its absolute discretion.!4
