During this season, the orchestra will perform a multitude of musical treasures some new and some well-known but all of which I am sure you will never forget! Michael Daugherty Deus ex Machina (Chicago premiere) Terrence Wilson, Piano Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade I am excited that the IPO will: be the only orchestra in the entire state of Illinois to perform a piece of exquisite American music on every one of our subscription concerts perform the beloved classics we all adore such as RimskyKorsakov s Scheherazade on Opening Night, Beethoven s Pastoral Symphony in November, and a suite from Prokofiev s Ballet Romeo & Juliet in May, just to name a few take its popular December pops show in a new direction with a delightfully entertaining multi-media project The Magical Music of Disney These are just a few highlights from a season that we have packed full of great music and superb soloists, and that showcases the tremendous talent of this orchestra. Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra at Rialto Square Theatre Beginning this season, the IPO, in partnership with the renowned Rialto Square Theatre, will launch a new series at this storied Joliet venue.
