Technical Rider This will serve as the complete technical rider for our performance at your facility. Should you not be able to comply with specific requirements contained herin, please contact our office immediately. Any changes made that are not confirmed by the Ryan McFarling office will be cause for cancellation of the performance. General Stage Requirements The Stage should be cleared of excess stored scenery or equipment. Because of the demands of our show, we require quite a bit of wing space both left and right. A cluttered stage will simply delay our load in as you will have to clear it before we begin. The stage must be accessible from the audience. We need two step units, one on either side of the stage, lined up as clearly as possible with the aisles. Audience members will be invited to join Ryan McFarling on the stage during the performance. If the step units are at all difficult for audience members (both children and seniors) to climb, please place them at the corners of the proscenium with handrails for safety. All draperies should be black and all in good condition. We will need a full stage back drop, with center split, to act as our backdrop. It will hang just upstage of our last electric. We also need four sets of black legs to create three wings on each side of the stage. These legs must be wide enough to serve as masking for the backstage area. We require a minimum of four feet, upstage of the back traveler, to be used as a crossover. The crossover and all offstage areas should be lit with running lights.
Media Artist will provide one DVD or USB Stick with music for the show. Where Ryan s sound technician is not travelling with him, Ryan will provide a set list with all pertinent details. Housekeeping A minimum of one (1) large trash can with liner should be positioned backstage. One (1) new role of paper towel is also required backstage. Restrooms should be cleaned and well stocked prior to arrival. Dressing Rooms Purchaser shall provide one (1) dressing room and one Green Room. All rooms should have adequate lighting, heating/cooling, mirrors, seating, and power outlets. Catering/Hospitality Green Room : 4 small bottles of lime flavored Perrier 6 bottles water Diet Coke/Pepsi Parking and Transportation Parking will be required for 2 rental cars as well as adequate space to accommodate a tour bus. Backstage Restrictions Throughout the run of the show, only necessary personnel will be allowed backstage; all others should stay clear of the backstage area. This includes presenters, promoters, and janitorial staff. Thank you for your cooperation.

At approximately 3pm on the load in day, the on deck running crew will meet with our backstage personnel to set cues for the show. For this meeting, we will need the stagehands, ushers, sound technicians, and lighting technicians. PLEASE NOTE: THE USHERS WILL ACTIVELY INVOLVED THROUGHOUT THE SHOW. THEY MUST WEAR BLACK PANTS AND SHOES. A BLACK PLACEBO EFFECT T-SHIRT WILL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH USHER TO WEAR FOR THE PERFORMANCE. On multiple show days, the running crew will have a one hour changeover and reset for the second show. This will occur immediately following the end of the first show.
On performance runs longer than one day, the running crew will have a work call to set up and pre-set for each show on each additional performance day as well as a cleanup call after each show. If Ryan McFarling is not travelling with his own lighting and sound rig, the lighting and sound MUST be installed prior to our load in. The crew requirements listed above are in addition to those stagehands necessary for your installation. Lighting Requirements Where Ryan McFarling is travelling with his own lighting rig, 2 stage hands are required at load-in time to assist. Ryan s lighting technician will direct the load-in. If Ryan McFarling is not travelling with his own lighting rig, the lighting needs are straight forward and a lighting plot will be created for the particular show we do in your venue. The lighting plot will be based on the lighting fixtures available in your venue. House Management and Box Office During the Ryan McFarling performance, we require one step unit on each side of the stage, many audience members are invited onstage and use these stairs. We require one usher at each. These ushers are used throughout the performance to assist audience members invited to participate in the show. If there is ample space by the stairs to add one chair for each, that is our preference. If that is not possible, the box office should hold one seat for each performance as close as possible to each step unit. If you have any questions about this procedure, please call our office for clarification. During intermission, Ryan McFarling will perform a trick onstage. Members of the audience are invited to walk to the edge of the stage. We often get several hundred people filing through during intermission. It is essential we have one usher as escort to keep order around the stage. Audience members are directed to line up in the house right aisle, walk up to the stage, fill out a ballot, and exit down the house left aisle. Ryan s stage hand will remain on stage throughout the intermission.
Catering Coffee and bottled water must be provided for the entire time we are present, beginning with our load in. Bottled water should be in 12 or 16oz bottles with screw off caps. These are used onstage during the show. We use 6 bottles per show. On multiple show days, please provide snack between shows. For example, fruit and vegetable plate, crackers, pretzels, etc. along with water and assorted sodas (include one twelve pack of diet coke/pepsi). Merchandising We would like to sell t-shirts ($20 tax included) in the lobby before, during, and after the show. We travel with personnel to sell. We request that you provide a table with a table cloth. Ryan McFarling will sign autographs in the lobby immediately following the performance. The percentage to the house is to be negotiated with our agent.
