ABU DHABI CITY TOUR The origins of Abu Dhabi city can be traced to the mid-1700s. Legend has it that Sheikh Dhiyab of the Bani Yas tribe ordered his son, Sheikh Shakh but, to establish a settlement on the site of a rare fresh water spring that had been discovered by gazelle hunters. The name Abu Dhabi means Father of the Gazelle. Guests will visit the following venues: Sheikh Zayed Mosque: The third largest mosque in the world. This mosque is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who was the founder and the first President of the United Arab Emirates. He is also buried there. The mosque acquires a large area between Mussafah Bridge and Maqta Bridge. Non-Muslims cannot enter mosques in the UAE but Sheikh Zayed Mosque is an exception. Guests would need to adhere to the dress code of the Mosque for them to enter. Manarat Al Saadiyat: Manarat Al Saadiyat means the place of Enlightenment. It is a 15,400 square meter arts and culture center designed to bring the vision of the island to life through The Saadiyat Story. The venue also features four gallery spaces. Located on Saadiyat, this artistic venue houses TDIC exhibitions with international collections from around the world, including three major galleries, a central events gallery, a sales center, and a 250-seat theatre. Masdar City: Abu Dhabi is designing the world s first zero-carbon, zero-waste city named Masdar City, which means the source. Although the desert might seem an unlikely location for such a large sustainable undertaking, Masdar will tread lightly on the landscape by harnessing solar power and relying on construction features that resist high temperatures, including extra shading and slab cooling. Its design is rooted in the Arabic tradition of walled cities but Masdar s stone-and-mud walls will be covered in photovoltaic panels capable of generating 130 megawatts. Along the site s northern edge, the walls will be more permeable to let in breezes. Electricity will also come from photovoltaic cells integrated into rooftops and a 20-megawatt wind farm. The city will get its water from a solar-powered desalination plant. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: It s the world s first Ferrari theme park and the largest attraction of its kind. The park pays tribute to the passion, excellence, performance and technical innovation that Ferrari has established over the years and represents today. Step past the main gates into an intense multi-sensory experience celebrating all things Ferrari. Fans, families and racing fanatics alike will experience the race, the culture, the indulgence and history like no one has before. 3

AL AIN TOUR Al Ain is known as the Garden City of the Gulf. The tour begins with a drive through the fascinating and ever-changing desert scenery. In Al Ain we visit the Al Ain Palace Museum and Al Ain National Museum. Near the National Museum the group will walk around the impressive oasis, which is filled with palm plantations. The group will then continue to Hilton Hotel Al Ain for a buffet lunch. After a nice lunch, the group will drive back to Abu Dhabi, making a stop at a camel farm on the way back. Al Ain Palace Museum or Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum was the palace of HH the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and was built in 1937. The palace, which has since been converted into a museum, strives to maintain the look and feel of the past and does considerable justice to the intention. This was the residence of the ruler and his family and the museum contains much information to educate us about the family tree and its history. Several residential quarters are on display. The palace consists of many courtyards, each for specific purposes such as wards for guests, children s housing, meeting rooms or majlis for the local and foreign visitors to the palace. Thanks to both the construction as well as the way of life on display, a walk through the courtyards is bound to transport you into an altogether different world, very much in contrast with the bustling life you would have left behind at the gates. The Palace Museum provides fascinating insights into the life that was led there before and is also a place to explore for its beauty and architectural elegance. Al Ain National Museum is the oldest museum in Al Ain and was built by the former President HH the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The museum contains artifacts dedicated to both the ethnographical and archaeological history of the region. Visitors will get an overall view of country s 7,500-year-old traditions and culture. 7
